It's Going to Be An Exciting Morning of Worship on Sunday

Join us Sunday morning at 9:30 at Lee-Scott Academy for an inspiring time of worship. Our preacher, Dr. John Ed Mathison, will be preaching a moving and relevant message entitled "Growing an Awe-full" Church based on Acts 2:42-47. You will be blessed.

You'll be blessed by the congregational hymns including "The Church's One Foundation" and "Awesome God." The Moving Forward Chorale will sing an inspiring anthem entitled "The Church of God Is One" by one of our very favorite composers, Mary McDonald.

Also, we're thrilled to welcome guest cellist, Michael Knowles. Michael will play an exciting arrangement of "All People That On Earth Do Dwell." He'll also bring you to the feet of Christ as he plays "How Great Thou Art" paired with "The Mission" which was brought to international prominence by the Piano Guys. It's going to be an awesome Sunday.

Also, at the conclusion of the service, our church's new permanent name will be announced. Here's a clue; the word Methodist is in it.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

What a special time as our Genesis Children’s Choir held their first rehearsal at Greystone Mansion today. To hear their beautiful voices singing “there can be miracles when you believe” just warmed my heart. Enjoy!

Join Us Sunday at 9:30!

Join us for an exciting musical service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday at 9:30 at Lee-Scott Academy featuring the Moving Forward Chorale, Festival Orchestra, and Genesis Children's Choir. The moving work entitle, "Carols" by Heather Sorenson is a deeply moving and poignant work in which the congregation plays a major role. This collection of familiar and beloved carols is interspersed with beloved scripture readings and responsive readings. Every movement is interactive for the congregation making this a totally fresh and creative approach. Our Director of Music, Gary Klarenbeek, shares, "This is the most creative Christmas musical collection I've ever encountered because the congregation is so totally involved from start to finish. It's almost as if the congregation becomes the choir and the choir becomes the worship leaders. It's going to be a very moving worship experience."

The readings will be done by Bill Felkey, Liz Kenemer, and Phil Scoggins, WRBL news anchor.

Don't miss this marvelous worship experience as we begin the Advent Season together!

Dutch Pianist, Ian Mulder, in Concert
December 17th

Don't miss the world-renowned Dutch pianist and composer, Ian (Jan) Mulder in concert with the Festival Orchestra in an epic performance of Christmas masterpieces. Experiencing Ian's artistry at Christmastime is a rare treat in the United States as he is typically performing in sold out concert halls across Europe. But this year, he will be with us in his third Auburn appearance. Ian recently had the distinct honor of performing to a sold out audience for the Proms in the Royal Albert Hall honoring the evening of the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla. This performance is generously underwritten by friends of the Music Ministry of Moving Forward Methodists.

The performance will be held at Trinity Methodist in downtown Opelika in their beautiful historic sanctuary. Performance begins at 2:00 PM with doors open at 1:00. Bring your family and friends to this rare Christmas music treat! Please note the performance time is 2:00!

Coming to Worship Sunday at 9:30
Denver and the Mile High Orchestra

Join us for worship this Sunday, November 26th at we welcome Denver and the Mile High Orchestra as our musical guests for our worship service. They will truly be helping fix our hearts and minds on the coming of the Advent Season which begins next Sunday. The service is held in the gymnasium of Lee-Scott Academy.

Denver and the Mile High Orchestra (DMHO) is a horn-driven band based out of Nashville, Tennessee. DMHO was formed by a group of friends at Belmont University in 1999. They have traveled across the world, playing at churches, conferences, and festivals. They have performed at two Olympic Games (2002-Salt Lake City, 2004-Athens), and were the house band at the 2005 Gospel Music Association Music Awards. DMHO finished third on The Next Great American Band, a "battle of the bands" reality show that aired on Fox in late 2007.

We thank all the generous donors to our Designated Music Fund who helped make this special worship experience possible.
