There has never been a moment in your life that God didn’t know what you were going through or how you felt.

He was with you the first time you heard your parents argue. He was there in the joy of your wedding day or the birth of your first child. He was there when the marriage you once thought would last a lifetime came to an end. He was with you in the moments of celebration, and He was near to you in your deepest grief.

And in every one of those moments, whether you recognized it or not, His presence never left you.

Sometimes we look back on difficult seasons and wonder where God was in the middle of it all. But Psalm 139 reminds us that every one of our days was known by Him before we ever lived a single one.
We serve a God who is never surprised by our circumstances or overwhelmed by our emotions. He knew us before we were formed, knew the celebrations and heartaches we would experience, and has been present every step of the way.

Whatever season you find yourself in today, remember that God has never been absent from your story.

He is closer than you think.

Congratulations to our first Men’s Journey graduates! We’re grateful for these men taking this step, and we’re expectant for what God will do in the lives of our men of NorthRock.

We also continued Wonder by looking at Psalm 139 and the beautiful truth that God knows us completely. David discovered that there was nowhere he could go where God wasn’t already present.

Whatever season you find yourself in, you have never lived a single day without God. He was there before you knew Him, He is with you today, and He invites you to let Him search your heart and lead you forward.

God is closer than you realize.

Your circumstances may be big, but the God you serve is bigger.

It’s easy to become so consumed by what we’re facing that we forget who God is. We see the diagnosis, the uncertainty, the fear, and the exhaustion. We know how big our problems are, but sometimes we need to be reminded of how much greater our God is.

The same God who parted the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions, and stood with His people in the fire is still at work today.

He is our healer when we’re hurting, our protector when we’re afraid, and our strength when we’re weary.

Whatever you’re walking through today, remember that you are not walking through it alone. The God who has been faithful before will continue to be faithful, even in the middle of what you’re facing.

New life! What a joy to celebrate those getting baptized today!

It’s easy to allow pain and pressure to make us forget how God has been faithful. When Job was hurting, God pointed him toward the wonders of creation: the sunrise, the rain, and the life unfolding all around him. It was a reminder that God’s power and wisdom were at work beyond what Job could understand.

Life gets heavy, and those are the moments when we need to pause and remember. Remember the prayers God has answered, the strength He’s given you, and the moments He’s carried you through. Looking back on His faithfulness can help us face our present circumstances with renewed faith.

Your problem may be big, but the miracles you’ve already witnessed remind you that God is bigger.

Moments like these 💛

Last night we talked about what it means to be dead in our sin and then sit in the good news that Jesus didn’t leave us there. In him we are made alive!

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”

There are areas of our lives where we can become convinced that nothing will ever change. The marriage feels too broken. The opportunity feels too far gone. The diagnosis feels too heavy. The season has been dry for too long.

But what feels impossible to us is not impossible for God.

The same God who brought water from a rock can bring tenderness back to a hardened heart. He sees every seed you’ve planted in dry ground, and none of it is wasted. He knows every detail of what you’re walking through, and He still has authority over it.

So keep praying. Keep believing. Keep trusting Jesus with the places you’ve stopped expecting to change.

God is still able to bring life where you thought there was only dry ground.

Praise God for the families that dedicated their children today!

We kicked off a new series, Wonder, and were reminded that God may be doing more around us than we realize. Through the story of Elijah and his servant, we saw how two people can look at the same situation and see something completely different. While the servant saw a small cloud after years of drought, Elijah saw the beginning of God’s promise.

Sometimes our problems become so loud that they drown out the voice of God. But what if there’s more happening than what we can see? Instead of only asking, “What’s wrong here?” we can start asking, “God, what are You doing here that I’m missing?”

God is closer than we realize. Maybe it’s time to look again.
