Lake Fork News for Wed April 21, 2021
Psalm 4:6b, “Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord!” It is spring time even with possible snow in
the forecast as I write this. We have traveled through a long and sometimes dark winter and the light of
God may have seemed very far from us.
About a month ago Daylight Saving time happened. We set our clocks ahead one our so that we would
have more daylight. I don’t know about you but that change in time every spring gets harder and harder
to adjust to. With spring the days gradually become longer and longer and there is more light to enjoy
each day. In the spring we thank God for the longer days and warmer weather. We celebrate the
resurrection of Jesus and the beginnings of new life. Why do we see the wonders of God more clearly in
the spring? Maybe it is because after the long and cold winter we are more open to see those wonders
of God.
The thing is God’s wonders are all around us no matter what the season. In the sunrise or sun set. In the
changing weather with glittering frost crystals or the sound of a gentle rain. The wonders of new life
when a baby is born. God’s wonders are here for us we just have to look for them. It is the same with
God’s light. It is always with us even in the darkest hours of our lives.
Here’s the thing....the light of God never dies. It is with us forever. We just have to accept God’s grace,
give thanks and live in his light.
