"All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer..." — Acts 1:14
Before major concerts, athletes, speakers, and performers spend hours preparing backstage. What people see publicly is the result of private preparation.
The upper room teaches us that revival is often preceded by obedience, prayer, and waiting. The disciples had every reason to rush into action after Jesus’ resurrection. Yet Jesus instructed them to wait.
Waiting is not inactivity; it is active expectation. It is trust that God’s timing produces greater results than our striving. The room was being prepared—not just physically, but spiritually.
The fire often falls where preparation has been made.
Lord, prepare my heart for what You want to do. Remove distraction, create hunger, and make room for Your Spirit to move in my life.
Set aside 15 uninterrupted minutes today for focused prayer.
