This morning, I preach my last sermon at First Presbyterian Church of Atmore, Alabama after fifteen years of ministry. The text is Isaiah 6:1-8 on “The Holiness of God,” which has had a major influence on my ministry calling. Yesterday, Mary and I enjoyed a delightful “retirement” party at William Moon’s beautiful home. Many thanks to Matt and his sister, Brenda Baker, for hosting this fun time. Please pray that we will be alert and faithful to God’s calling, whatever that looks like.

Take a moment today to remember those who died serving their nation. Memorial Day is our nation's solemn reminder that freedom is never free. It is a moment of collective reflection on the noble sacrifices of those who gave the last measure of devotion in service of our ideals and in the defense of our nation.
We don't know them all. But we owe them all.

Please pray for God's peace and comfort for all affected directly and indirectly by the horrific mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Also, please pray that schools will immediately review their security plans and update and implement changes as needed.

What a Lord’s Day! Well attended Adult Sunday School and Morning Worship followed by Memorial Service preparations for our dear sister in Christ, Maybelline Boatwright, followed by a pre-wedding drop-in for our Covenant child Alan Ash and his fiancé Catherine Keeter, followed by in-home visits with some precious saints, and completed with a relaxing, but brisk two-mile walk! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

🎶 In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live 🎶

Sin never improves. Human nature has not changed since Jesus' crucifixion.

“What matters most in evangelism is having the gospel at work in your own life. It must be changing you here and now by the power of the Spirit if it is going to mean anything to others.”
