Monday Morning recap:
Yesterday, we explored "The Emmaus Way" and the reality that we have all walked those seven miles of disappointment at some point in our lives. Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, it is easy to let the "Fridays" of our lives eclipse the hope of Resurrection Sunday, leading us to live our faith on autopilot. However, we were reminded that Jesus meets us exactly where we are—not with a lecture, but with a listening heart and His transformative presence. Through what John Wesley called "prevenient grace," God pursues us even when we fail to recognize Him, walking alongside us in our grief and using His Word to reground us in His massive story of redemption.
Our hearts were "strangely warmed" as we discussed how the breaking of bread and the opening of Scripture serve as powerful means of grace that open our eyes to the Risen Lord. But this encounter isn't meant to be a private experience; just as the disciples rushed back to Jerusalem to share the good news, our burning hearts are meant to fuel a "social holiness" that impacts our community. As we head into this week, remember that Jesus is still walking the road with you, asking about your heart and inviting you to see Him in the ordinary moments. Let’s take that fire back to our families and neighbors, moving from just knowing about Jesus to truly walking with Him.
