Sairam! We had a great discussion this week on self-sacrifice:
We all shared experiences where we have sacrificed either time or money for a better cause such as volunteering, giving money to homeless people, or helping our parents or friends. We then proceeded to have an interesting conversation about whether we should consider something a sacrifice if it does not make us upset afterwards. There were many differing opinions on this where some felt that if you are not slightly upset afterwards, it is not a true sacrifice. However, others felt that there is no need to specify only some acts as a sacrifice, as any service is a sacrifice. We also shared examples of different people in our lives who have been an inspiration of self-sacrifice, like our mothers, grandmothers, and elders.

We had a nice bhajan session with lots of participation :)
