Presbyterians for a Better Georgia

Presbyterians for a Better Georgia We help give Georgia congregations, nonprofits, and individuals a voice in the halls of public decision-making while serving our most vulnerable neighbors.

Congregations and individuals need to have a voice in the halls of public decision-making. Presbyterians for a Better Georgia helps provide that voice through our ministry of public policy advocacy. We work closely with Presbyterians and other advocacy groups to make our concerns known, particularly in the areas of children and juvenile health and safety, healthcare for Georgians, and indigent car

e. Our professional advocate in the state legislature is Elizabeth Appley, who has over 20 years of experience at the capital. In addition to her in-depth knowledge of the legislative process, Ms. Appley is as passionate about justice and equity as she is personable and warm in her role as an educator within our congregations.

We had a great turn-out for our Online Advocacy Training last night. Presbyterians from all over the state joined us over Zoom to talk about bills affecting affordable housing and healthcare for Georgians. Next we take our voices to the Georgia State Capitol on March 18th. The more of us that gather, the stronger the voices of prayer, of gratitude for our lawmakers and of advocacy for compassionate laws to shelter and care for the mental and physical health of our neighbors. (Register and recruit your friends and church members). , , ,
