Emory Hillel

Emory Hillel Official Emory Hillel page. Emory Hillel is the focal point for more than 1,500 Jewish undergraduate and graduate Emory students.

Our mission is to enrich the lives of these individuals so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. Our primary goal is to significantly increase the number of Jewish students who have meaningful Jewish experiences at Emory.

As we officially close out the school year, we’re so excited to share the first issue of HAKOLOT, Emory Hillel’s literary magazine ✨📖

Created in response to students who wanted a space to share their creativity, HAKOLOT is designed, written, and edited entirely by Emory Hillel students, featuring original artwork by Artist in Residence, Josephine DeMarco. While we wait for the physical copies to arrive, we’re excited to share the digital version for everyone to enjoy over the summer ☀️

Thank you to our Editor-in-Chief, Risa Rogers, and to all of the students who helped bring this first issue to life ❤️

🎓 Senior Spotlight 🎓

Today we’re celebrating Lily Freeman 💛💙

Lily is majoring in Economics, and after graduation she’ll be heading to Washington, DC to work in healthcare consulting - so exciting!

Her favorite Hillel memory? Winning this year’s Purim costume contest with Anna Schwartz 🎭 A moment full of creativity, fun, and a little friendly competition.

Lily has brought so much energy and spirit to our Hillel community, and we’re so grateful for all the joy she’s been a part of. Show her some love in the comments ✨

Hillel Global Giving Week Begins Today! - Please Support Emory Hillel

Hi everyone. Today, May 4th begins Hillel Global Giving Week. One of the greatest privileges of my role is getting to know the students at Emory and seeing firsthand how important it is for them to have a place where they feel connected, supported, and proud of their Jewish identity. For many students, Hillel is that place. From social programming, Shabbat dinners, and holiday celebrations to leadership programs, mentorship, and simply having a space to walk into and feel at home — Hillel plays a central role in their Emory experience.

This week, we have a unique opportunity to expand that impact. From May 4–8, every gift to Emory Hillel will be tripled through a 3x match from Hillel International.

The link to donate is https://give.hillel.org/fundraiser/7247698

Some of the initiatives that we're trying to raise money for are a religious programming budget, our new Emory arts endeavors, Israel education and awareness, and our snack/drink budget so we can keep everything free at the building. If you believe in what Hillel is doing — for Jewish life at Emory — please consider making a donation (after midnight tonight) as well as sharing the link with a few friends, family members, or fellow Emory parents who care about supporting Jewish students at Emory.

Thank you again for everything you’ve all already done. It does not go unnoticed — and it makes a real difference every single day.
