☀️ Summer Spotlight: Vivian Marcus ☀️

This summer, Vivian is participating in Emory’s Tibetan Mind Body Sciences study abroad program in India, where she is learning about Tibetan Buddhism and culture while exploring the intersections of Buddhism and science through experiential learning.

From studying in Dharamshala, home to the Tibetan exile community and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, to spending time at Drepung Losel Ling Monastery in Mundgod, Vivian has had the opportunity to immerse herself in the culture and learn directly from monastics in exile.

One of the highlights of her summer was having an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and attending the Tibetan Government-in-Exile presidential inauguration ceremony, where he gave a special shoutout to Emory University!

Next up, Vivian will be heading to Tanzania with her mom to hike Mount Kilimanjaro before returning to campus to help lead SOAR for the Class of 2030.

☀️ Out of Office ☀️

The Emory Hillel team will be taking a summer break from June 12–21. During this time, our office will be closed and our staff will be completely offline, with no access to emails, calls, texts, social media messages, or other communications.

We look forward to reconnecting with you when we return on June 22. Wishing everyone a wonderful start to summer!

🧹 What started as a little summer cleaning quickly turned into a treasure hunt… 👀

From shovels to a tent (and a few other questionable discoveries), our staff found some pretty random things hiding around Hillel. Watch until the end to see everything we uncovered 😂

Which item surprised you the most? ⬇️
