Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day. While you are out enjoying the extended weekend, remember that freedom does not come free. Let us be thankful for the men and women who sacrificed their lives to preserve the freedoms of our great nation. For nearly 250 years, Americans have fought courageously to defend the liberties we are so blessed to enjoy. May we never forget the sacrifices of those who came before us and their deep love for our country.
As believers, we also have freedom in Christ — freedom from sin, death, and the grave. Yet, just as earthly freedom comes at a cost, our spiritual freedom was purchased through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Those who place their faith in Christ as Lord and Savior have the comfort of knowing that when they close their eyes in death, they will be present with the Lord in glory.
Christ demonstrated the depth of His love by willingly enduring the cross to provide salvation for all who come to Him. 1 Corinthians 6:20 states, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
May we live our lives for the glory of God, always remembering the sacrifice of our precious Savior.
