Working with children and youth is a rewarding experience but can also bring unique challenges.

To help volunteers in their care and work with children and youth, a special workshop, “SERVING THE NEEDS OF OUR CHILDREN AND YOUTH” will be held on June 27, 8:30am-12pm in the Fellowship Hall. Continential Breakfast/Check-in 8:30-9am.

The workshop will help participants examine and evaluate their thoughts and emotions, and better understand the behavior of children and youth as it relates to their interaction with them. Volunteers, church staff, and anyone who wants to understand the developmental needs of children and youth are invited to attend.

Check out the Ascent Thrift Store immediately after service. Proceeds from sales of gently used clothing items and handbags will be used to support the Generations Ministries. The Thrift Store is hosted by the Young Adult and Youth Ministries.

This event will bring together a variety of voices to address how we can work together to support our children and disrupt pathways that lead from the classroom to incarceration.

On this Saturday, May 2, from 9am to 12pm, Ben Hill will offer on-site VOTER REGISTRATION by Deputy Registrars for LAW DAY! You can also submit updates to your registration status such as address changes, etc.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
1) Please note, when voting your PHOTO ID info must match your registration record.

2) Early voting for the May 19 General Primary and Nonpartisan Election ends on Friday, May 15.

3) Oct. 5 is the REGISTRATION DEADLINE to vote in the Mid-term elections on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.

4) When was the last time you checked your voting status?
