What a blessing to partner with St. Paul to offer a study of Dr. Howard Thurman’s timeless book, “Jesus and the Disinherited.” We were especially excited because the study began shortly after the annual MLK Day celebration, which gave us an opportunity to not just talk about the past and about racial harmony, but to have a real-life experience by joining with members of St. Paul to explore and discuss how we “live together” using Dr. Howard’s vision as our guide. The 7-week study was well worth the effort! Thank you to the clergy, lay leaders, and members of St. Paul and Ben Hill for trying/supporting something new!

The UM News podcast “Signs of Life” returns with the story of two congregations in Atlanta that embarked on a study of a Howard Thurman book. One congregation predominately black and the other white, participants explore together a story of new understanding and relationship.

O God, our hope and refuge,
in our distress we come quickly to you...

We come remembering those who lost their lives
in New York, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania...
