A JOYFUL DAY IN THE SIXTH EPISCOPAL DISTRICT! 🎉

We celebrate Rev. Edward Johnson, Jr., Pastor, Dr. Vanessa Hall Johnson, First Lady, Rev. Dr. Larry W. Hudson, Presiding Elder and the Flat Rock A.M.E. Church family on the dedication and official opening of their new church campus in Fayetteville, Georgia!

This milestone reflects visionary pastoral leadership, faithful stewardship, and a congregation committed to ministry and community.

Bishop Michael L. Mitchell, Presiding Prelate of the Sixth Episcopal District, delivered the dedication message, “Won’t He Do It,” from Psalm 118:23–24.

“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.”

Congratulations, Flat Rock! It’s time to “TAKE OFF” into the next season of ministry!

GEORGIA, LET’S SHOW UP FOR ONE OF OUR OWN!

This Sunday, the AME Church Freedom Summer School welcomes Georgia’s own Dr.Claire B. Crawford, Assistant Professor of Politics and International Affairs and African American Studies at Wake Forest University.

A native of Lithonia and daughter of Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Crawford and Dr. Sherell Vicks Crawford of First Saint Paul AME Church, Dr. Crawford is a scholar of Black political thought whose research explores Black liberation, social movements, political identity, sound and the political lives of Black communities.

Dr. Crawford holds degrees from George Washington University, Georgetown University, and the University of Southern California, where she earned her Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations. Her current scholarship explores the richness of Black Southern political life and the ways our communities have imagined, practiced and pursued freedom.

The Sixth Episcopal District has every reason to be proud. Let’s show up Sunday evening and support Georgia’s own!
