One of American Judaism’s most historic, vibrant and diverse synagogues, Atlanta's oldest synagogue and home to more then 1,500 families. For a century and a half, it has built a tradition of social justice work and a commitment to broadening people’s access to a full Jewish life. The Temple hosts a vibrant religious school and one of Atlanta’s most respected early learning centers. We are proud o

f how each member brings his or her own story to our diverse community—such as those who have a multi-generational history at The Temple and those new to Atlanta or The Temple, those who identify as interfaith, LGBT, have children with special learning needs, and those of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking a Jewish community – a place to call home. The joy of Jewish camp lasts far beyond the summer, and thanks to the generosity of our community, more children can experience its magic. As we received these heartfelt thank-you notes from the Rosenberg Family Jewish Summer Camp scholarship recipients, we were reminded of the impact.

"Thank you so much for helping fund my trip to camp! This is my fourth year going to this camp, and I am super excited to go again this year!"

"Camp fills me with joy, and I'm so happy to know that I can continue to be a part of it! It's also very fun to continue with Jewish culture with prayers and Shabbat. (Challah being the honorable mention.)"

Our Annual Meeting hit all the right notes, featuring a heartfelt performance of "Livin' on a Prayer" honoring outgoing President Jeff Belkin's leadership! We also celebrated two remarkable recipients of this year's President's Award:

Cindy Lourie — for her longtime leadership of the Breman Education Center Committee and the Zaban Paradies Center Board, as well as her years of service through sustainability initiatives, food drives, professional relations, and countless acts of dedication to our congregation.

Stan Lowenstein — for helping advance key congregational priorities, including ushering, ShalomCare, Welcoming & Belonging initiatives, professional relations, and strengthening The Temple's partnership with the Zaban Paradies Center.

We also welcome our new President, Sara Loft, along with our incoming trustees, officers, and standing committee chairs!

Join us this Friday for a special Shabbat as we honor Loving Day, commemorating the landmark 1967 Supreme Court decision that affirmed the right of in*******al couples to marry and celebrating the diversity that strengthens our communities.

On June 12, 1967, Mildred and Richard Loving won the landmark Supreme Court case, Loving v. Virginia, which legalized in*******al marriages nationwide, and we celebrate Loving Day on June 12 each year in its honor.
