The Temple

The Temple The Temple, a Reform synagogue founded in 1867, is Atlanta's oldest and serves 1,700+ families. The Temple- a Reform synagogue founded in 1867.

One of American Judaism’s most historic, vibrant and diverse synagogues, Atlanta's oldest synagogue and home to more then 1,500 families. For a century and a half, it has built a tradition of social justice work and a commitment to broadening people’s access to a full Jewish life. The Temple hosts a vibrant religious school and one of Atlanta’s most respected early learning centers. We are proud o

f how each member brings his or her own story to our diverse community—such as those who have a multi-generational history at The Temple and those new to Atlanta or The Temple, those who identify as interfaith, LGBT, have children with special learning needs, and those of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking a Jewish community – a place to call home. As a Reform congregation, we are rooted in tradition and also blessed with a focus on the future needs of the Jewish people. We are eager to bring you into a stronger connection with Judaism and show you why Newsweek magazine has named us one of the 25 most vibrant congregations in America.

This program brings together faith leaders, legal experts, and engaged community members for an evening of honest conversation about what is at stake. Hosted at All Saints Episcopal Church and co-presented by The Temple, Georgia Lawyers for the Rule of Law (GLRL), and First Five Freedoms, the event weaves together spiritual reflection, legal analysis, and civic dialogue to address one central question:

What does it mean to protect the rule of law — and why does it matter for all of us, right now?

Shavuot begins tonight at sundown as we gather to celebrate the giving of Torah at Sinai and the enduring gift of Jewish learning, wisdom, and community.

This holiday reminds us that revelation is not just a moment in our history—it is an ongoing invitation to learn, grow, and renew our commitment to Jewish life.

Chag Shavuot Sameach! May this season be filled with meaning, connection, and maybe a little cheesecake too. ✡️🍰
