Words of Life Christian Ministries The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

At Words of Life we seek to empower the people of God to fulfill their God given purpose, to reach their destiny by the teaching of the Word of God and the edification and exhortation of the saints. We encourage God's people to step outside the box, take the limits off, dream big and totally trust God. At WOLCM we try to give people who have been hurt a place to call home, without judgment, jealou

sy or preconceived ideas. We offer a place where people can stir up the gift of God that is within them and become who God has created them to be.

It is not always easy to stand on your faith. When you are sitting across from a doctor who gives you a dismal report, faith becomes a little difficult. The same holds true when a family member or loved one receives a bad report. Sure you know the scriptures. You have acquired tons of notes from bible study over the years but nothing prepares you for the range of emotions you experience upon receiving bad news. Faith can be hard to come by. However, when the word of God is your foundation, faith will emerge. At first the report may be a shock but when you are rooted and grounded in the word, nothing will change that. When faith is put into action, you realize, “By His stripes we are healed.” (I Peter 2:24) “He heals all our diseases.” (Psalms 103:3) You cannot afford to wait to build a foundation after a tragedy has occurred. Soldiers begin training before the war ever begins, not after because then it will be too late. God already knows your situation. He’s not frantically trying to plan a solution. He knows the end from the beginning. Trust God and know He has it all worked out. He was right there when the report was given and He has given you the victory.

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.

Believers are to follow the voice of the Lord through the good and the bad. The more time spent in His presence the more you will find Him directing your path. Often the road He directs us to follow is the road less traveled. He sends us to places most refuse to go, including other believers. He asks us to say things we may not want to say. This is usually our assurance it is Him speaking to us. However, truly committed believers will go wherever He leads. He has plans for us we may not fully comprehend when He speaks but when we love Him, we follow. There is an inner peace when we are in the will of God. His will is our daily agenda regardless of where it leads. Trust your relationship with Him and He will never lead you in the wrong direction.

Romans 8:13-14
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

There are those who have been in a battle for a long time and believing God for a way of escape becomes more difficult with each passing day. As much as you try to move ahead, you keep finding yourself right back where you started. You’ve heard all the prophecies, you know the scriptures, you’re constantly praying, you’ve stepped out on faith, you’ve given until you have nothing left and yet nothing seems to be changing in your situation. Its frustrating and everyday you want to give up. Although you have come a long way in your walk with the Lord…you have come much too far to turn back now. Everything you’ve been through, every tear you’ve shed, every set back, every trial, every closed door, every missed opportunity was not meant for your destruction. Nothing you’ve been through was meant to destroy you but to strengthen you. You are so much stronger than you know. Don’t allow your situation to get you off course. Continue in your walk with Him and you will make it!

John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Each and every believer has a God given assignment. Some have been given highly publicized assignments while others are given a less publicized one. Some have been given a platform and some are called to raise Godly children. Regardless of your purpose it is your responsibility, which means there is no reason to attempt to fulfill someone else's assignment. When each person focuses on their individual responsibilities, things run smoothly. However, whenever your focus is on someone other than yourself, the strategic plan of God, encounters problems. For instance, if your assignment is to bake the pound cake, why are you complaining about not baking the chicken? You weren’t assigned to bake the chicken. You were assigned to bake the pound cake. If everyone in the Body of Christ, would focus on their individual assignments, how many lost souls would be saved. The enemy convinces believers that other assignments are more important, more powerful and more prestigious than what they’ve been assigned too. By this deception, many are not completing what God has called them to do. Rather you’ve been called to be a teacher, a doctor, a preacher, a parent, a singer or a cake baker, do it all to the glory of God. Stay in your lane. Don’t worry about the other lanes, just stay in your lane and complete the assignment you’ve been given.

I Corinthians 12:14-21
For the body is not one member, but many. 15If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21And the eye cannot say unto the hand. I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

Do not allow yourself to be discouraged by those around you who would hinder you from advancing. Every time you move to a higher level or a greater position, there will always be a negative, jealous, envious person standing on the sidelines (going absolutely no where) waiting for your demise. The very ones who speak out the loudest are the ones who have not moved an inch. That’s why eleven disciples remained in the boat, while only one stepped out and walked on water. There would be no reason for jealousy if the object of their hatred, did not have something they wanted. No one is jealous of someone who isn’t going anywhere. No one looks at the person pushing a shopping cart on the street, holding everything they own and envy what they have. You have been given something (your haters) do not have access too. However, each time you are promoted, each time you advance, each time you step out on faith, each time your greatness is recognized and acknowledged, then the naysayers have something to say. He is Sovereign, not stupid…He knows who to promote and who to demote. He knows who will praise Him and who will pretend and perpetrate. Ignore the haters and pretenders. Congratulations to all whom GOD alone has chosen to promote!!!

Nehemiah 6:1-3
Now it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;) 2That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. 3And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?

Rewards or blessings are the benefits of God. When God’s people are obedient to His commands then we are rewarded with His blessings. His blessings are predicated on our obedience. Obedience simply means following His instructions and doing His will. We show our love and appreciation to the Lord by our obedience and He shows His love to us in return. Throughout His word He let’s us know, if you do this; then I’ll do that. If you will confess with your mouth…then you’ll be saved. (Romans 10:8) If my people who are called by my name…then will I heal their land. (II Chronicles 7:14) Our first responsibility to Him is to obey. So often we want the blessings but we want to live according to our standards as opposed to His. Disobedience has a price attached to it. No, it may not occur today or tomorrow but sooner or later a price must be paid for disobedience. He sees all and He knows all. Eventually, He will respond to the obedient, as well as to the disobedient.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 15
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
15But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

It’s not how many times you fail that makes a difference…it’s how many times you get back up. All of us have fallen. Even the richest and most famous have fallen at some point in their lives. Let’s face it, we’re human and we all make mistakes. Sometimes the mistakes can be costly and at times it can be detrimental to a relationship. That is when we have a choice. Do we remain down and depressed or do we pick ourselves up? Each bad decision, presents an opportunity to learn from it. Failing is a measuring point of how much you really want what you failed at. When you are determined to succeed, failing simply inspires you to keep going. Nothing will stand in your way. Anything worth having is going to present with it challenges and obstacles. If you decide to give up because of the challenges, your point of destination wasn’t very important to you. However, if you continue to press your way through, not one obstacle, not one fall and not one failed attempt, will ever prevent you from reaching your goal.

Proverbs 14:16-18
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. 17Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: 18Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Why does it seem as though when you are going through some of the most difficult challenges in your life; that is when you feel the most alone? When you need Him the most, is when all of heaven seems to be closed. Could it be, your prayers are being answered and you haven’t recognized it yet? Many of the Lord’s most powerful vessels have experienced an aloneness, which is unlike anything they have ever gone through before. Adam was alone in the garden before Eve was created. Jonah was alone in the belly of a fish. Joseph was alone in a pit. Moses was alone on Mt. Sinai. Abraham was called to leave everything he had ever known, except for his wife. Paul was thrown in jail. Daniel was alone in the lion’s den. Even Jesus was alone in the Garden of Gethsemane. However, it may seem like they were alone but in actuality the Lord was with them. Sometimes God will put you in a valley, remove you from everything that is familiar and leave you there. Some can’t handle the heat or the pressure but if you can hold on, help is on the way. He is preparing you to go to a higher place in Him. Everybody cannot go where He is taking you but you are not alone! It may not feel like it right now but the Lord is with you. He didn’t just leave you there…He knows exactly where you are and how to bring you out. Regardless of how it appears…YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Hebrews 13:5-6 NIV
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

Do you have animosity toward people who have hurt you? As much as you try to forget, it seems to always be there. You can’t seem to get past it; no matter how hard you try. How could someone you cared for so much, cause you such an enormous amount of pain? What did you possibly do to deserve it? No matter how many times you ask yourself this question, you may never have an answer. In order for you to get past it and move on, you must forgive. I know as Christians, we don’t want to hear this but it is what the Lord requires of us. First of all, we cannot forgive without Him. That’s why it’s always lurking in your mind and becomes impossible to forget, let alone forgive. Jesus was betrayed by those He not only loved but also by the same ones He helped along the way. However, He is our example of perfect forgiveness because He forgives us each and every time we ask Him. He died for the remission of our sins. If He can forgive us; surely we can forgive others. If you are harboring unforgiveness and you really want to be free, release the offender to the Lord. I encourage you to make a decision to forgive and free yourself from the past. Your future will become so much brighter!

Mark 11:25-26
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any; that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

So many Christian singles are waiting for the Lord to send them a godly spouse and that is to be commended. We should not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. However, what is the purpose of wanting a mate from the Lord and continuing to live just like the unbeliever. What separates your lifestyle and that of an unbeliever? Christians are to be setting the standards, as opposed to following the ways of the world. If you look like, dress like, talk like, walk like, act like and go to all the places as an unbeliever, what sets you apart. If the only difference is you go to church on Sunday, that doesn’t set you apart. That simply means you go to church! Jesus set the standard for Christian living in His word and He allows us (the believer) to make choices death or life, blessing or cursing. Each of us is required to make a choice. If you choose to live life as that of an unbeliever; (which is your right) then why do you want a godly mate and would a genuine godly person really be interested in an ungodly believer as his or her mate…

I Corinthians 3:16-17 NIV
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? 17If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

Why do believers spend so much time worrying? We worry about our children. We worry about our health and most of all we worry about our finances. As believers, our trust is in the Lord. He has promised to supply all our need. He is our Shepherd and we shall not want. Although, we may not always know how things are going to work out, He promised it is all working together for our good. Worrying doesn’t change our situation but it does leave us doubting Him. Whenever we are worrying, we doubt His ability to supply our needs. When we stand on our faith, we believe His word. Faith is believing if He said it, He will do it but without faith it is impossible to please Him. As believers, God expects us to trust Him. He knows everything your going through but He has already made a way of escape for you. Your way of escape has already been made for you today…You just need to trust Him!

Matthew 6:31-34
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Have you been held back by past mistakes? Is the guilt from something you may have done when you were younger causing you pain today? We all make mistakes. Each of us have made some bad choices at one time or another. However, holding on to what you cannot change only serves to keep you stuck in neutral. You can’t go forward and there’s nothing left to go back too, so inevitably you find yourself standing still. Guilt has a way of holding you captive and tying you to your past which prevents you from moving ahead. Stop worrying about things you can’t change. Make a decision to let it go. This has held you down, long enough. It has hindered you long enough. Out live your past mistakes. Don’t battle with it any longer determine instead to overcome it. One bad decision, one wrong season, does not determine your entire life. Where you've been has nothing to do with where you are going. So…let it go!

Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
