Almighty God, on this 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember.

We remember the lives lost, each one beloved, each one known fully by you. We remember families who still carry absence, first responders who ran toward danger, and ordinary people who, in an extraordinary moment, chose courage, compassion, and neighborliness.

We remember the fear and grief of that day, but we also remember what rose up in the midst of it: courage, sacrifice, generosity, and love.

God of all nations, make us a people who refuse to surrender to fear. Lead our nation in the ways of justice, mercy, reconciliation, and peace.

Remind us that darkness never has the final word. Light always finds its way through. Hope rises. Love endures.

On this day of remembrance, make our remembering holy— not only looking back at what was lost, but looking forward with renewed resolve to build a world more worthy of those we remember.

May we be people of courage.
May we be people of peace.
May we be people of hope.
And above all, may we be people of love.

Amen.

THERE'S ALWAYS A PLACE FOR THEM

"They are loved by this community and by God no matter what, no matter who they are. There's always a place for them with God and with this community.”

The parents in this video didn't come to All Saints' looking for a perfect church. They came looking for a real one — a community where their children would be known, loved, and formed in faith in the middle of a city that shows them, every single Sunday, that the world is bigger and more beautiful than they knew.

This video captures what is of greatest value on this block — our people, and perhaps especially the children for whom we are setting a table, so that they know deeply that they belong to God.

That is what this campus is for. That is what All Saints’ is for.

Refugee Ministries is grateful to Shannon Deisen of St. Catherine's Episcopal Church for hosting us every year for our largest Swimming Buddies pool party. This year we provided hospitality to 25 kids and their families from Burundi, the Congo and Rwanda. We are especially grateful to Craig Sears and the Sears Pool Management Company for providing us with water safety instructions and life guarding. Thank you to the thirteen volunteers who helped with transportation, food delivery and water supervision. For more information on how to get involved in Refugee Ministries, please email [email protected].

A PLACE YOU’D TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT

"The reason I like talking about All Saints' is because I get to talk about what I get to do with them."

All Saints' young adults didn't find this community by accident. Many of them were looking for something specific — a place with traditional roots and arms wide open. A community that doesn't just say all are welcome but means it, without hidden exclusions or hidden agendas. A place where faith is put into practice — with refugees, with children, with neighbors — and where you'd feel comfortable inviting literally anyone in your life.

What they found was a home base. A community that sends you out — into ministries, into friendships, into the city — and celebrates when you go find your thing.
