✈️ THE EMINENCE CHURCH AIR FORCE ✈️

Some churches have a bus ministry.

Apparently, Eminence Christian Church has an Air Force. 😂

We realized, sitting in our parking lot on Sunday mornings are the owners of FOUR airplanes.

Different airplanes. Different pilots. One church. One mission.

And while we may enjoy getting a little closer to the heavens than most people do, we know you don’t need an airplane to get close to God.

You just need Jesus.

So whether you arrive by airplane, pickup truck, minivan, motorcycle—or something held together with duct tape—we’ve got a place for you.

Missing our friend, our encourager, and sister in Christ, April Myslinski.

I remember this day, the ladies were at the church putting together cookie boxes for a cookies exchange. Nobody expected April to be there because she had just returned from a chemo treatment in Chicago. But there she was. Her shirt says it all. She didn’t just believe it. She lived it.

Jesus never said, “Come to me, all you who have everything figured out.”
He said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Seems like everybody I meet these days…is weary and burdened.

It’s not fancy. But surprisingly busy.

Just a little red picnic table sitting beneath an old shade tree at Eminence Christian Church.

The paint is faded. The wood is weathered.

But if that table could talk…

It has offered shade to farmers climbing down from hot tractors. It has welcomed bicyclists needing a break from miles on the road. Motorcyclists have stopped there to cool off. County workers have eaten lunch there. Families have shared meals. Travelers have rested for a few minutes before continuing on.

On hot summer days, it quietly does what it has always done—it gives people a place to slow down and rest.

I can’t help but think that’s a little picture of what the Church is supposed to be.

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

We hope this busy little table reminds people that there is more than shade here. There is a Savior who welcomes the weary, hope for the discouraged, and a church family that would be glad to meet you.

So if you’re passing by and need a break, have a seat.

The table is waiting.

And so are we. ❤️

Let’s worship together, church!

☀️ We had a fantastic day serving and encouraging C.O.P.S. This organization (Concerns Of Police Survivors), honor heroes, support families, and raises awareness for fallen police officers through their annual bicycle across Illinois event.

📖 This Sunday we continue in our, “Hard Questions for God” This week’s hard topic: Divorce.
