Asher Galloway

Dr. Asher Byrd Galloway, Sr., 77, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Dr. Galloway was a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist in Douglasville from 1977 until 2017. He was known for his good-heartedness, which was shown in his kindness and his concern for others. A devoted husband, loving brother and father, he married Kathy Dunn in 1979 and had two children. Dr. Galloway loved old country music, especially Hank Williams and George Jones, and really enjoyed singing country style music.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 45 years, Kathy Galloway; son and daughter-in-law, Asher Byrd and Lorena Galloway; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Eric Dendy; brother, Miller Bryan Galloway; sister and brother-in-law, Netia and Mickey George; five grandchildren, Asher Alexander Galloway, Amelia Dendy, Elliott Armando Galloway, Michael Dendy and Olivia Isabel; as well as numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.

On September 27th, Dad went home to be with the Lord. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers lifted up for him and our family. We have been blessed to have him in our lives. My brother Robby Sosby just found this old photo which includes the Sunday School teachers for this class. My Mother, Frances Sosby along with Dot and Alice Yarbrough. Sorry but I don't recognize the other three.
