In Loving Memory of Evangelist Michael R Gonzalez
As we gather with grateful hearts to celebrate the life and ministry of Evangelist Michael Gonzalez—a faithful servant of God whose greatest desire was for others to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. His life was a testimony of unwavering faith, genuine compassion, and a servant’s heart. Wherever God called him, Michael answered with humility, joy, and a deep love for sharing the Gospel.
Michael’s ministry touched many lives, but his impact was especially felt through his internship at Crusselle Freeman Church of the Deaf. During his time with our church family, he faithfully taught Bible studies, led Sunday School classes, and preached during our morning worship services. His messages were filled with biblical truth, encouragement, and a heartfelt invitation for people to draw closer to Christ. He challenged each of us not only to know about Jesus but to seek Him with all our hearts and live out our faith every day.
Michael had a special place in his heart for deaf teens. At Christian retreats, he invested countless hours encouraging young people to grow spiritually, develop their gifts, and build a personal relationship with Christ. His patience, kindness, and joyful spirit made every young person feel valued and loved. Many continue to carry the lessons of faith and hope that he shared with them.
He was also an active member of the Brotherhood of Christian Men, where he found strength in Christian fellowship and encouraged other men to stand firm in their faith. Michael believed that Christian brotherhood meant serving one another, praying together, and living as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
Outside of ministry, Michael enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved photography, capturing God’s beautiful creation and preserving precious memories for others to cherish. He also had a fun-loving personality and enjoyed WWE, often sharing laughter and lively conversations with friends and family over his favorite matches.
Above all, Michael loved his family. They were his greatest earthly blessing, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. His love, encouragement, and example of faith will continue to live on in their hearts.
Michael’s greatest legacy is not found in the places he traveled or the sermons he preached, but in the lives he changed through the power of God’s Word. He inspired our church family to become stronger followers of Christ, to search the Scriptures more deeply, and to place Jesus at the center of our lives. Because of his faithful witness, many were encouraged to grow in their faith and walk more closely with the Lord.
Although we mourn his passing, we rejoice in God’s promise of eternal life. We have the blessed assurance that Michael is now in the presence of the Savior he loved and served so faithfully. We can imagine him hearing those precious words:
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
As we remember Michael Gonzalez, may we honor his legacy by continuing the work he loved so dearly—sharing the Gospel, encouraging one another, serving faithfully, and pointing others to Jesus Christ.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
The Crusselle Freeman Church of the Deaf family will forever be grateful for Michael’s faithful ministry, his loving spirit, and the lasting impact he made on our congregation. Though he is no longer with us, his witness for Christ will continue to inspire us for years to come.
