We have FREE mulch available at the cemetery. It's on the left side of the driveway, halfway between 4th Ave and the flagpole.

The mulch is from an old oak tree that was storm-damaged and had to be removed.

By the way, we had to pay for a professional to take down and grind up the tree, so donations, as always, are welcomed. 😀

East View Cemetery is privately run and 100% dependent on donations for its upkeep. We receive no assistance, financial or otherwise, from the City of Atlanta or any other entity.

We need your financial support for regular maintenance of the gravesites, driveways, sidewalks, trees, and greenspace, as well as exterminating of fire ants. These most basic needs keep the cemetery safe to walk through, easy to find the headstones of your loved ones, and make the cemetery a calming place for visitors and nearby residents.

East View Cemetery Association is a 501(c)(13) non-profit organization.

Free Leaves!!!

Our next workday is Saturday, December 14, and we typically end up with 300-350 bags of leaves. In the past, the city of Atlanta has been willing to haul them off, but not anymore! Amd they won't let us just leave them along the curb.

If you can use some leaves (for composting, mulching, fertilizing your lawn), please cone to the workday and take some off our hands. Otherwise, we will have a big expense finding someone to haul them away for us.

The East View Cemetery Work Day will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..

A list of tasks that need attention will be posted outside the cemetery office. There are some yard tools available, but you are welcome to bring your own.

The following are items we may need assistance with:
1) Trimming tall weeds, vines, kudzu, etc.
2) Picking up trash around the cemetery
3) Assist with cleaning headstones
4) Providing snacks for volunteers

Although warm, sunny weather is predicted for August 13th, the alternate workday in the event of inclement weather is Saturday, August 20th.

We appreciate all the volunteer support and donations we receive. Donations are used to provide ongoing grass cutting for the cemetery through a professional lawn service, as well as other maintenance expenses.

Due to rain this week and the prediction of rain and storms tomorrow,
we will cancel the East View Work Day scheduled for December 11th.

We will reschedule the Work Day for Saturday, December 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as noted in the email sent December 8th.

Since the weather forecast can change, please check your email Friday December 17 to confirm that the December Work Day is still taking place on December 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

At the Annual meeting on August 21, it was decided that we would not do parking this year. There were not enough volunteers to work the project.

In addition, there is a diseased tree by the driveway that is scheduled to come down on Friday and may extend on to Saturday. We had to wait for the permit first and then Hurricane Ida. You can park along 4th Avenue beside the cemetery for free. Please try not to block the entrance to the cemetery.
