Let’s talk about the step before your enter the game and even before practice. The planning process of creating a framework for your vision takes time, prayer, patience, and partnership. You are going to need a perspective other than your own.

One of the hardest truths I’ve had to digest this season is that I put myself out of the game. I stayed on the bench for a season so I could get my mental health right which was worth it, but there are consequences to benching yourself.

Yea I came back with clarity on my vision and what I needed to do to manifest it. But, while I was on the bench I forgot the work that is required. The intentional practice that even got me to this point so far is a part of that work.

Trust me, I thought I was doing the work and I had, but this was different level of work that actually presented itself as blind faith. It’s the practice where you meet the ultimate coach, God. On the court and you only follow His direction, not your instinct and your limited vision.

So now I’m in the game but I’m also spending time practicing, investing in myself, the word of God, and stepping into the direction He set forth for me. Life may not yet look like what I believe it should, but honestly God is setting my bar higher.

Here are some ways that I practice to prepare for the promise over my life:
💥daily devotional
💥visit my vision every morning
💥journaling my prayers
💥sacrificing with intention
💥giving myself grace for the marathon

Remind yourself of who TF you really are!

I will admit that I have forgotten how resilient, spicy, popping, smart, excellent, sexy, and all the things I really am. We grow up and become so much to so many others that if we don’t take a moment to just dance in the mirror we will miss the beat.

This journey of engineering the lifestyle I deserve & desire is true transformation to result in intentional joy & life fulfillment. The mommy version of me needs to know the Spelman version of me, just like the married version needs to know the H-Town Hottie in me too!

All your experiences matter to make you the woman that you are. Don’t hide them, disregard them, or try to delete them from your story. I’m not out here saying don’t grow! But, don’t be so focused on growing that the core of why you were created to be the you that you are starts to fade away.

Keep your rhythm by reminding yourself, & anyone else that needs to know who TF you really are!

[Shared a 5 years ago throwback in my stories ]I will never forget my first day teaching, one of the students approached me and said “hey you must’ve not gotten the message we wear uniform here!”

Here I was under 5 feet tall, straight out of college, teaching these adult like children. In the moment, I felt unqualified and there were days where I questioned if this was the right decision. But as I reflect on my journey of being a teacher I engineered what I wanted my career path to be because I knew the type of impact that I wanted to have. 5 years ago I knew that I wanted to unlock the limitless possibilities and share the access that results from having a willingness to shift your thinking. I had my own blueprint as to how this was going to happen & I was committed to sharing every part of my lifestyle as an example to what my students could be capable of achieving& becoming.

I have moved from the classroom to corporate to consulting to coaching in less than 10 years of education. Working with major corporations that did not have a stake in education but valued the perspective and expertise that I’ve brought from my experiences.

None of this happened by mistake, my backwards planning helped me to engineer a lifestyle where I knew when it was time to
💥pivot
💥shift my habits
💥upgrade my routines

so that I can elevate to the next step in my road map of life.

I love seeing my former students on living the lifestyle they engineered because I know that I had a role in helping them get to the place of limitless possibilities they are experiencing. I am so grateful for every student that I have interacted with and thankful for the 22-year-old version of me that chose to leap into teaching and create my own blueprint to engineer the life & impact I want.

9 Months Out Vs. 9 Months In [SWIPE] Roycey is 9 months old and that means I’m 9 months postpartum! I did it! (All my mamas out there IYKYK) If you’re curious to what ALL I DID I’ll let you in on the secret:

💕I consistently showed up for myself allowing me to show up for those who need me most
💕I molded for my son what it means to chase your dreams by leaving corporate
💕I tapped into my creativity and teaching background to start shaping my son’s self expression and self discovery
💕I gave myself grace, compassion, and space to grieve and grow

A lot has happened and things have shifted for me in ways that I couldn’t have written for myself. Yet, I’m still in constant awe of how I’ve been guided to such a beautiful life.

Watching my LO grow reminds me and teaches me so much. There are moments and lessons I admire later that are for making decisions. Thinking of my actions and thoughts through the lens of my son has made me more than a better mom but a better me. At 9 months postpartum I’m the best version of me that I can give to my son and now to others.

Leaning back into these spaces with the authority of WHO called me to be *cough* THE DAE HAYES (Hello!) is going to be a journey! The dopest part about this journey is that many of you all have been here with me for minute and your commitment will be worth it! Y’all get to be blessed by association because you watched from near and far.

My Homebirth Journey Where it started and how it ended

After my first pregnancy I knew that I wanted my rainbow son to be born at home. This was more than just a convenience matter in the middle of a pandemic but about me wanting to create a space where I felt empowered, engaged, and connected to this pregnancy. I did so much research to figure out the perfect balance between diving into an experience that I knew nothing about but also incorporating some of my husband‘s desires for the birthing experience as well.

Our compromise resulted in me having a hybrid homebirth experience which gave me the best of both worlds. I was able to have an amazing midwife, a Doula, and an OB/GYN. Each one worked in tandem and I could not have done it without this birthing team. I knew what I wanted my Ian results to be and I also knew that Facebook required me to develop new mindsets around my birth experience. Due to the nature of my previous pregnancy, my son transitioned in April 19, 2019, I had to be intentional about healing the traumas from the previous pregnancy and learn how to trust my new little one in my womb.

I have shared this birth story in bits and pieces within the last six months, however I am so excited to share a full recap of my home birth experience and how I released control and received the most beautiful gift I could have ever asked for as a mommy. The first Elevate Series will launch tomorrow on my vlog but I am opening a space for you to ask me ANYTHING home birth related.

So this was such an exciting month of new opportunities and transitions for me. Many of these transitions came as a result of God making it clear that He is setting me on a pathway that requires me to completely depend on him. Although the month is not over I decided to share highlights of my March pivots and pitfalls:

❤️I finally decided to take the leap as a full time entrepreneur and coach — no more side hustles
❤️Refined my Morning ☀️ Routine so I can partner with God on my purpose
❤️Got rid of some pre-pregnancy clothes that I held on for too long
❤️stepped out of my comfort zone and started my 🎥vlog - Dae In the Life (click the link in my bio to subscribe)
❤️got my brand whipped into shape by brand manager .co
❤️ landed my first four figure client ☺️

I’ve been showing up for myself and in return God is shedding and making room for the authority placed in my pathway and purpose. This week I will be recapping all of the Elevate Sessions for March as I prepare for Elevate April!!
