RhemaWord Outreach Ministries

RhemaWord Outreach Ministries RhemaWord Outreach Ministries exists to help the Body of Christ RE-DISCOVER the POWER in God's Word! The first was 2 Corinthians 12:7-10. It was the Word of God.

God birthed RhemaWord Outreach Ministries with a simple entry written into my personal journal during a season of personal doubt, frustration and spiritual confusion. After having moved from Omaha, NE to Atlanta, GA in the fall of 2006 and experiencing the loss of a job, income and other personal possessions through a break-in while I was asleep in my apartment, I felt as if I had no other place t

o turn than to my prayer closet, to God and to His Word. Two Scriptures were brought to the forefront of my spirit during this particular time. Here the Apostle Paul speaks of a proverbial “thorn” in his flesh. A problem that he felt hindered his ministry and effectiveness for Christ. Paul prayed three times, on three different occasions for this thorn…this “issue” to be removed. And God’s response was not physical deliverance, but Divine Grace through the Words spoken by Jesus Christ. The same Jesus that Apostle John called, “The Word made flesh.”

After reading this, God brought my attention to Ephesians 6:17. It was the same Paul…perhaps writing now from personal experience, who penned these words: “And take the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.” Of all the pieces of the spiritual armor that Paul encouraged each Christian to put on in order to combat the advances of Satan, it is the “sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God,” that serves as the only OFFENSIVE weapon against the enemy. In Matthew 4:1-12, our Saviour and Lord was seen in the wilderness being harassed by Satan. Jesus was being tormented, teased and tempted. He only had one weapon, however, to fend that enemy off. Three times Satan tried to dangle purpose-destroying temptation in the face of Jesus. Three times Jesus warded off the enemy these three words: “It is written” as He began to quote God’s Word from the Old Testament as His defense against Satan’s trickery. In Ephesians 6:17, Paul used the Greek word, “Rhema,” which is literally translated, “a specific Word from God for a specific situation.” This ministry’s purpose is to give YOU a specific Word from God to handle whatever unique life situations you personally encounter. The only sure-fire cure for what ills the people of God is the Word of God. The People of God NEED the pure, unadulterated, undiluted, Word of God taught and applied to their lives in order to side-step demonic destruction and walk into divine destiny. After writing my personal feelings about overcoming the “thorns” of life by the Word of God, God led me to share my writings with the 32 family and friends who were on my email address list. Always apprehensive about sharing my writing with people, I didn’t want to share because I figured no one would pay much attention to it. I assumed they would just write it off as the ramblings of a bored man. Much to my surprise, I immediately began receiving feedback from people who spoke of how blessed they were. Some stated that they’d never seen those Scriptures presented in that light before. Others even shared it with other friends and family on their email address lists, and it was these people who inquired about more writings and more biblical insight. Inspired by this, I began writing daily thoughts on various Scriptures and sending them out. I created a Monthly Devotional Prayer calendar and began basing the daily devotionals on the topics included in the Devotional Prayer Calendar. The e-mail distribution list that began with 32 friends and family in 2007 has grown to over 1,200 people today (not counting the many subscribers who forward these devotional materials on to their address lists as well). This devotional ministry reaches subscribers in at least 23 different states and four countries (Afghanistan, Iraq, Spain and Canada) besides the United States. In 2010, I began instituting a monthly time of intercessory prayer and online spiritual counseling in addition to the devotionals and calendars. For many, RWOM became a sort of “online church.” In 2011, RWOM will undergo a ministry expansion which will include Bible Study tools and outlines, powerful and accurate biblical preaching and teaching featured on this website, an expanded intercessory prayer ministry and opportunities for widespread evangelistic ministry to reach the nations with the Gospel of Christ. Simply stated, the God-given mandate and mission of this ministry is to help people “Re-Discover the POWER In God’s Word!”

This devotional is for those of you who are afraid of having patience.

Chances are, for some of us, if I told you to “have patience” for something that you're really in need of, or something you strongly desire, you might look at me as if I just cursed.

Here's hoping that today you'll begin to find your way in Him.

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. – Galatians 5:16 (NLT)

I finally got the chance to watch the movie “42” this past weekend. It is the story of the legendary Jackie Robinson's journey toward breaking the long standing “color barrier” in Major League Baseball.

Because I hate the DMV, and I absolutely abhor waiting in long lines, I was extremely happy when the Georgia Department of Transportation decided to simplify the driver's license renewal process.

One of my greatest discoveries when it comes to reading and studying God's Word was when I realized that the original language of what we call the Old and New Testament is not English, but Hebrew and Greek, respectively.

Many have debated the doctrine of California mega-church pastor Rick Warren. But regardless of how you feel about his ministry, he definitely got it right when he wrote the first sentence in his book The Purpose Driven Life, when he wrote: “It’s not about us.” When it comes to the Christian life, th...
