Sneak Peak at details of the new A.E. Schlueter organ at Most Holy Trinity Cadet Chapel in West Point, New York.
What Was.….The original 1961 Moller organ did not have an 8’ Principal in the Great, only one reed, limited color, and no mutation devices, one pair of strings, and only two 16’ registers, which were extensions of the manual stop registers. These resources were addressed through a two-manual console with the 2 rank Swell (string and celeste!) as a floating division.
What Is…..The new organ is 24 ranks and controllable from a new custom three-manual console. There are no electronic or digital voices in the organ. This required very custom engineering for the new electro-pneumatic windchest to design and build a much larger instrument within its original space allocation without (seemingly) major visual changes.
The stoplist is attached. Watch for this organ to be featured as the cover article in The Diapason September 2025 issue for full details.
