It is Indigenous Peoples Day! I’m abundantly thankful for the indigenous folks I get to know, primarily through my United Methodist connection and work with General Board of Global Ministries. Thank you for sharing your stories, challenging my understandings, modeling perseverance, being patient with me as I learn about the deep wounds caused by colonization especially as it relates to Christian mission. May we all seek to better understand our interconnected relationship to each other and God’s creation.

Traveling to all these conferences is exhausting AND encouraging to see the work of God’s people. In between each conference we have had a day or so to regroup, wash clothes and pack for the next one. Our base has been Mansfield, LA…because of childcare. The sunrises here are the best! And a daily reminder of God’s promise of redemption and renewal. It’s a whirlwind AND a blessing.
