For 16 years, Loli Gross has been a steady and caring presence at Beth Shalom, serving as our Executive Director and helping guide our community through moments big and small.

Many of the things we enjoy and rely on today exist because of her dedication and leadership. From building improvements and accessibility enhancements to security initiatives that help keep our community safe, Loli has strengthened Beth Shalom and built its foundation, brick by brick.

Whether she helped welcome your family, answered a question, solved a problem, celebrated a milestone, or simply offered a familiar face and a kind word, chances are Loli has been part of your Beth Shalom story.

On Saturday, June 27, Congregation Beth Shalom comes together to celebrate her retirement and honor her years of service, leadership, and dedication to our congregation.

As we prepare for this special Shabbat, we'd love to hear from you: What is your favorite memory of Loli? Share it in the comments below.

Mazel tov, Loli, and thank you for 16 remarkable years.

Community happens everywhere, even on the trail.

This past weekend, members of our local Jewish community gathered for a hike at Indian Seats Mountain, enjoying fresh air, conversation, and beautiful views together.

At Beth Shalom, we’re always looking for ways to help people build connections beyond our walls. Whether it’s Shabbat dinners, volunteer opportunities, family events, social groups, or outdoor adventures, meaningful relationships grow when we spend time together.

What’s your favorite way to connect with community?

We are excited to introduce Rabbi K'vod Wieder, who will be joining Congregation Beth Shalom as our next Senior Rabbi this summer.

Rabbi Wieder is known for a thoughtful and approachable style of leadership rooted in learning, relationship-building, and Jewish community. Congregants who know him best describe a rabbi of kindness, integrity, inspiring teaching, and a genuine ability to make people feel welcome.

In the months ahead, there will be opportunities to meet Rabbi Wieder, learn with him, and begin this exciting new chapter together. For now, we invite you to get to know him a little better.

Play Ball with Beth Shalom at the Gwinnett Stripers Game!

Grab your baseball cap and join fellow Beth Shalom families for an afternoon at Coolray Field as the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, take on the Nashville Sounds on Sunday, June 7 at 1:05 PM.

Whether you’re a die-hard baseball fan or simply looking for an easy Sunday outing with family and friends, this is a great opportunity to enjoy time together, catch a game, and kick off summer with the Beth Shalom community.

Bonus for families: It’s Princess in the Park Day, and kids will have the chance to run the bases after the game!

Summer weekends fill up quickly, and tickets are limited, so be sure to grab yours soon. We’d love to see a big Beth Shalom crowd at the ballpark!

Yesterday’s Rosh Chodesh minyan was one of those beautiful reminders of what kehillah truly means. Members of our community stepped up in every way: leading davening, reading Torah, taking aliyot, serving as gabbai, and simply showing up to make the minyan possible.

There was something incredibly moving about watching everyone come together so naturally and wholeheartedly. Moments like these are what make our community so special.

Kol hakavod to everyone who helped make the morning experience meaningful.

What a wonderful evening!

Our Young Families Potluck was filled with great food, happy kids, meaningful conversations, and new connections. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the night feel so warm and welcoming.

💬 “This was exactly the kind of community experience we’ve been looking for. The kids had a blast, and the adults actually got to connect.” – Young Families participant

The Daytrippers had a fantastic time exploring the Georgia State Capitol today! They spent a couple of hours touring the building, learning about past governors whose portraits and displays are featured throughout. The group even got a special look inside the Governor’s front office and the House chamber.

After the tour, they wrapped up the day with a delicious lunch at Mezcalito’s Cucina, definitely a hit! 🌮✨

Introducing Young Families Shabbat

We’re starting a new dinner series for young families this spring and summer. The goal is simple: create a comfortable, welcoming space to spend time together and get to know other families in the community.

Whether you’re already part of Beth Shalom or just getting to know us, this is an easy, low-pressure way to connect. Show up, share a meal, and meet people in a similar stage of life.

Think good food, real conversation, and a Shabbat atmosphere that works with actual family schedules.

We’ll also provide free babysitting so parents can settle in, enjoy the evening, and take a breath while the kids are cared for nearby.
