Introducing the National President for the Morehouse School of Religion Alumni Association!
Reverend Proctor is a firm supporter of education and the undeniable opportunities that education presents. Revered Proctor’s postsecondary educational journey has included the following: Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education; Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia where he graduated with honors with a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision; and Morehouse School of Religion, at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Homiletics. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities with a concentration in African American Studies at Clark Atlanta University. His research seeks to discover “What Social Justice means for the twenty-first century urban Black Church?” With his passion for both, education and preaching, Reverend Proctor has also served as an Adjunct Homiletics Instructor at Point University. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
In January of 2002, God initially opened Reverend Proctor’s window of pastoral opportunity as he was called to lead the Wrights Grove Baptist Church of Forsyth, Georgia. In June of 2010, Reverend Proctor accepted his next God-ordained assignment as he was called to lead the historic Saint James Baptist Church, also of Forsyth. Since accepting this call to serve Saint James, God has shown tremendous favor to this union. Reverend Proctor’s pastoral journey has included such accolades as being named an “Outstanding Pastor of the Year” by His Own Ministries and an “Emerging Young Community Leader” by the Hubbard Alumni Association. God is using Reverend Proctor tremendously to preach a word of hope and empowerment to the local community. Also since being called to pastor Saint James, Reverend Proctor has been appointed to serve as the Deputy Secretary of the Middle Georgia Region of the New Era Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. Additionally, Pastor Proctor currently serves as the President of the National Alumni Association for the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center.
If asked to articulate the true essence of this ministry that God has entrusted to him, Reverend Proctor would say that he ministers by the following major objectives: to be led by the Holy Spirit, to effectively teach and preach the Word, and to effectively lead and empower God’s people to become positive agents of social transformation. In fact, Reverend Proctor’s heart for ministry can be properly summarized through some very familiar words: “A charge to keep I have; a God to glorify; a never-dying soul to save and fit it for the sky. To serve this present age; my calling to fulfill; O may it all my powers engage to do my Master’s will.”
Rev. Antonio Proctor,
National MSR Alumni Association President
