We welcome you to the worship live stream of Atlanta First United Methodist Church, we're glad you're here! Let's worship together.

Today is Trinity Sunday, which is when we celebrate a core tenant of the Christian faith, the Holy Trinity, which is the three aspects of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

It is also Peace with Justice Sunday. This is a day within the United Methodist Church when we come together to support ministries that work for peace and fairness around the world. The church speaks out with one voice against violence and inequality and renews its commitment to be peacemakers—just as Jesus taught.

Rev. Dr. Jacqui Rose-Tucker will be our preacher this Sunday, and she will look at the scripture lessons of Genesis 1:1-2,26-28a and Matthew 28:16-20 in her sermon, “The Dance of Love!” Worship begins at 10:00 a.m.

Before it was called Memorial Day, it was known as “Decoration Day” — a sacred day of remembrance when people decorated the graves of soldiers with flowers, prayers, and gratitude.

One of the earliest known observances happened in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1865. Just weeks after the Civil War ended, newly freed Black Americans gathered to honor Union soldiers who had died in a Confederate prison camp. They exhumed the bodies from a mass grave, gave them proper burials, built a fence around the cemetery, and held a procession of thousands — including Black schoolchildren carrying flowers and singing hymns of freedom and hope.

It was more than a memorial service. It was an act of dignity. An act of justice. An act of remembering that every human life bears sacred worth.

As we observe Memorial Day, may we remember the fallen. May we honor those who served and sacrificed. And may we also remember the deeper story of people who believed remembrance itself could be holy work.

Memory matters. Gratitude matters. And the work of building a more just and compassionate world still continues. 🇺🇸

We welcome you to the worship live stream of Atlanta First United Methodist Church, we're glad you're here! Let's worship together.

Life holds joy and sorrow, faith and doubt, hope and fear—often all at once. The Psalms meet us in the middle of it all, giving us language to pray through every season of the soul.

This Easter season, from Easter day to Pentecost, we are journeying together through the Psalms—learning to bring our whole selves before God and discovering the steady presence of Christ in every moment. Join us in worship this season for Holding It All: Finding Faith, Balance, and Courage Through the Psalms.

This Sunday is Pentecost, the birthday of the church! Pentecost, the fiftieth day after Jesus' resurrection, was the day when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples of Jesus like a rushing wind and flames, filling them with the Spirit and setting them on their mission to grow the new church of Christ. Be sure to wear RED if you can, as the color red is symbolic of the flames of the Holy Spirit! As we celebrate Pentecost we will also celebrate the faithful disciples of our midweek GROW Groups during WORSHIP with a special presentation of certificates.

Lead Pastor Rev. Jasmine R. Smothers will conclude our Easter series by looking at Psalm 150, the final Psalm, and John 20:19-23 in her sermon, “When the Holy Spirit Comes.” Worship begins at 10:00 a.m.
