Georgia District Assembly Prayer Guide (2023)
Prepare…
o Spend a few moments in silence, asking God to eliminate any distractions and to help you focus on connecting with Him in prayer.
o Read Revelation 3:7-8…
“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” (NIV)
Praise…
o Thank God for speaking through His inspired Word and through the Holy Spirit.
o Thank God for the Open Door Jesus has provided, by His death and resurrection, to all who repent and believe in Him.
o Thank God for open doors for the Gospel, including open doors that made a way for you to hear and respond to the Good News of Jesus.
o Thank God for His saving, sanctifying, and sustaining grace.
o Thank God for the Body of Christ, His Church, all around the world.
Petition / Intercession…
“First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 HCSB
o Pray for leaders of our government (world, nation, state, county, city, etc.)
o Pray for the Church of the Nazarene and our leaders at every level (local, district, regional, general).
o Pray specifically for our Georgia District pastors and churches that God brings to your mind.
o Pray for our Georgia District leadership team.
o Pray that the Holy Spirit will move in power and freedom in this District Assembly and in our churches.
o Pray for Dublin First and all who volunteer to help host this Assembly.
o Pray for the upcoming General Assembly - that the global Church of the Nazarene will be united in holiness, spirit, and purpose.
o Pray that we will recognize and respond to open doors God provides to represent and communicate the Gospel in our spheres of influence.
o Pray that we will stay focused on God’s mission and be faithful to God’s message (Word).
o Pray that we will be encouraged and energized to faithfully live and share the Good News.
Proceed…
o Spend a few moments asking God to remind you of anyone or anything else He wants you to pray for at this time.
o Thank God for hearing your prayers and the ways He is already at work answering them.
o Offer a song of praise to God.
o Go in God’s grace and peace - ready and willing to go through the open doors God provides and confirms.
