Challenge Grant!
The Episcopal Community Foundation for Middle and North Georgia (“ECF”) has awarded NAP a challenge grant of $16,000 for its Digital Access, Credentialing, and Workforce Learning Hub. The hub will provide refugees and immigrants with the tools, training, and support needed to overcome challenges of digital literacy, limited English proficiency, and barriers to credential recognition. ECF has asked St. Bartholomew’s to partner with NAP in this effort. ECF will award NAP $2 for every $1 raised by St. Bart’s up to $16,0000 for a total potential impact of $24,000. Therefore, our goal is $8,000. Your vestry members have each been challenged to contribute and are already stepping up. We’ve already raised $3,600!

Please consider contributing today. You can do so on Realm by selecting “New American Pathways” in the dropdown menu or by clicking here: https://onrealm.org/stbartsatlanta/-/go?page=donor-form&givingFormUrl=NAP . You do not need to log in to Realm. If you contribute by check, please indicate “New American Pathways” in the memo line. The deadline for contributions toward the grant is June 30, 2006.

NAP Volunteer Opportunities:
The opportunity for partnership between St. Bart’s and NAP extends well beyond the challenge grant. This parish has a long and distinguished history of helping people in their time of need. For obvious reasons, immigrants in our community face uncertain future and a lot of fear. Our commitment to love our neighbor and our baptismal pledge to respect the dignity of every human being calls us to action. I encourage you to explore the many volunteer opportunities that exist at NAP by clicking here: https://newamericanpathways.org/get-involved/ . Whether as individuals or groups, please consider plugging in to this work with the love characteristic of this community.

Request for Readers!

We are coming up on Pentecost Sunday, May 24th. There will be one service at 10:30 am. Following that service will be a parish-wide picnic.

On this day, the Spirit is poured out, opening the way of life to every people and every place. The breath of God fills the church, sending us out to proclaim, to serve, and to love in ways that renew the world. We pray that this gift would be kindled in us again, that we may share in the life of the Holy Spirit and bear it to the ends of the earth.

In preparation for this service we are in search of non-English speaking readers to jointly read the Gospel. This is to commemorate the speaking in other languages during the descent of the Holy Spirit. We already have volunteers who will be speaking German and Irish Gaeilge. If you would like to participate, please contact the parish administrator.
