Gun violence leaves lasting wounds for families and communities. On June 7, the Faith Activism Network will welcome Twina Feliciano to share her story of loss, resilience, and advocacy.

After losing both her husband and later her 17-year-old son, Ocasio, to gun violence, Twina founded the Ocasio Feliciano Foundation to support young people through mentorship, social-emotional learning, and apprenticeship programs.

When justice feels elusive, we are called not to lose heart, but to deepen our commitment to building a more compassionate and equitable world.

Our faith calls us to uphold the dignity of every person, to advocate for those on the margins, and to work for communities where all people are protected, valued, and able to flourish. Hope is not passive, it moves us toward action.

For nearly a decade, Heather Hallett has been a leading voice for gun safety advocacy in Georgia. On June 7, the Faith Activism Network will welcome Heather to moderate a conversation with survivors of gun violence and community leaders working for change across metro Atlanta.

As founder and director of Georgia Majority for Gun Safety, Heather has helped advocate for practical gun safety measures and recently celebrated Gov. Kemp’s veto of legislation that would have limited local governments’ ability to enforce gun storage laws.

When justice feels distant, our calling remains the same: to keep showing up, speaking truth, and working for the dignity and well-being of all people.

Faith invites us not into discouragement, but into faithful action, advocating for our neighbors, participating in our communities, and helping build a world marked by compassion, equity, and hope.
The work of justice belongs to all of us.
