Someone just sent this to me.

Normally, when I go viral, I get upset and end up crying because I know what often comes with it. The criticism, the opinions, the misunderstandings, and the attacks.

But this time is different.

God is showing me that He will get the glory from every part of my life, including the difficult moments. While some people have said I was wrong for how I handled the situation or wrong for allowing it to be seen publicly, God reminded me of something important: “He did NOT call me to be like THEM. He called me to be like HIM!”

When you genuinely strive to please Jesus every day, there will be people who misunderstand you, criticize you, and even dislike you for it. That comes with the territory. But every now and then, God will raise up someone with a greater platform, voice, or influence to publicly affirm what He already knows privately:

“That’s My child right there.”🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

To everyone who has defended me, encouraged me, prayed for me, and stood up for me when I didn’t even know there was a battle taking place, thank you.

I see you, I appreciate you, and I am grateful for you.

Most of all, I thank God for continually reminding me that He is my Defender.

I will always rebuke and correct with Love ❤️……

I stand by how I handled the situation.

As a pastor, my responsibility is to protect the people, the atmosphere, and the integrity of the service. I addressed the situation with both love and firmness, just as Scripture teaches us to do.

It is also my responsibility to demonstrate the love of Jesus to everyone, regardless of their background, race, lifestyle, struggles, or sin. The church should be a place where people encounter both truth and love.

I did not embarrass, belittle, or mistreat Mr. Joe. I simply addressed behavior that was inappropriate for the house of God and potentially dangerous to everyone present.

I have no regrets about protecting the service, the people, and the space God entrusted to me.

I also have no regrets about not putting him out, rejecting him, or making him feel unwanted or unloved.

My goal was not to condemn a Mr. Joe. My goal was to correct a behavior while still extending the love, grace, and dignity that every person deserves.

That is what I believe Jesus would have required of me in that moment.

Hey GLUE Crew,

I’M BACK!!!!! 🎉🙌🏽

Well… kind of! 😂

I just left my doctor’s appointment, and she has given me permission to “preach,” and return to the “gym.” 💪🏽🙌🏽

However, I do have several limitations on both. Sigh 😭

Y’all know my heart is always to serve, so today I surprised the team of nurses who cared for me during my 7 day hospital stay.

I blessed them with cupcakes, chicken salad, and turkey and cheese pinwheels as a small token of my appreciation. ❤️

We must always be mindful of how we treat others. The very people we encounter today may be the same people Jesus uses to bless us tomorrow.

Thank you all for your prayers, love, support, calls, texts, and encouragement during this season. They meant more to me than you’ll ever know.

I can’t wait to see y’all Sunday!

And don’t forget… it’s Holy Communion Sunday. 🙏🏽
