We’re honored to welcome Jeanné Brown to Scott’s Farewell Concert.

Since her professional debut with Robert Shaw, Jeanné has captivated audiences across the U.S., Europe and Japan, performing on renowned stages including Carnegie Hall, La Scala and the Kennedy Center. A beloved presence at Peachtree Road, her voice has blessed our congregation through countless concerts and worship services.

We can’t wait to hear Jeanné’s beautiful voice fill Peachtree Road as she sings “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hand”. Join us Sunday, September 13, as we celebrate Scott and his remarkable tenure.

A Midtown Atlanta native, Luca recently returned home after earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands in Southern California, where he studied Psychosocial Development and Vocal Performance. His performance credits include Sweeney Todd, Die Fledermaus, and Into the Woods, reflecting the versatility he brings to both music and the stage.

For Scott’s tribute concert, Luca will perform Leonard Bernstein’s Simple Song from Mass, a piece that holds special meaning for Scott. With its intimate vocal tone and unadorned expression of personal faith, Simple Song captures the heart of the Mass and promises to be a beautiful moment in the concert.

Philip Stopford’s remarkable musical journey began as a chorister at Westminster Abbey and continued through organ scholar appointments at Truro and Canterbury Cathedrals before becoming Director of Music at Belfast Cathedral at just 25. Today, he is an internationally respected composer and choir trainer, with music performed and recorded by choirs around the world.

Philip and Scott have enjoyed a special musical collaboration over the years. Peachtree Road commissioned two works from Philip, 'Peachtree Evening Canticles' and 'Behold, the Tabernacle of God', both of which have become meaningful parts of the choir’s repertoire.

From his celebrated choral compositions to his work with choirs across the U.S. and U.K., Philip’s music has made a lasting impact on the choral world. We’re honored to celebrate his music, his friendship with Scott, and the creative connection they have shared with Peachtree Road.

What a joyful Sunday at Peachtree Road! Yesterday, we welcomed this wonderful group of new members into the life of our church. We are especially grateful to celebrate six who joined by Profession of Faith and three adults who received the sacrament of Baptism—meaningful signs of faith taking root and lives being renewed in Christ.

We give thanks for each new member and for the gifts, experiences, and faith they bring to our church family. May we continue to be a place where people encounter God’s grace, grow in faith, and find a community in which to serve and belong. Welcome to Peachtree Road!

David White and Scott have spent many years together guiding, teaching, singing and touring with the Georgia Boy Choir. Peachtree Road is also proud to be their home as our Ensemble in Residence. So it is only fitting that David would be part of this celebration.

David R. White is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Georgia Boy Choir, and has spent more than three decades training boys and young men to sing. He previously led the Atlanta Boy Choir and has conducted choirs at festivals across Europe and the United States, including the Cultural Olympiad in Greece and the Choral Olympics in Linz, Austria. He sang in Robert Shaw's Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Georgia College.

Join us Sunday, September 13 at 7:00 pm as we honor Scott's 40 years of music and worship at Peachtree Road. Reserve your tickets at https://peachtreeroadumc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/946/responses/new

There is always more to Scott's story. In this one, he remembers how the organ and this sanctuary came to be, and what it has meant to make music here for so many years.

We would love for you to hear it in his own words. Then join us September 13 at 7:00 pm as we give thanks for Scott's 40 years of music and worship at Peachtree Road.

Looking back on Days 6 and 7 of the Chancel Choir's tour in England.

The choir sang at Canterbury Cathedral and spent time exploring its cloisters, the medieval streets of Canterbury, and the moated grounds of Leeds Castle in the Kent countryside. The tour has now come to a close, but look for more photos this week recapping this memorable residency.

If you missed any of it, the livestreamed services are still available to look back on anytime! Link in comments to watch.
