With heavy hearts and solemn reflection, the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia announces the transition of one of God’s faithful servants, Rev. Dr. Derek M. Dumas.

Rev. Dr. Dumas served with distinction as Pastor of Greater Lizzieboro Missionary Baptist Church and as 6th District Vice-President of the Convention. His life was marked by unwavering faith, dedicated leadership, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the Kingdom of God.

We celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. Truly, he has heard the words,

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

🕊️ October 16, 1972 – April 17, 2026

Our convention leadership, along with the entire convention delegacy, extends our heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences to the Dumas family, church family, and all who were blessed by his ministry.

May God grant comfort and peace during this time of bereavement.
