When Jesus said, "I am with you ALWAYS," he really meant it. This is what that looked like for me, when I broke my back last September and landed in the hospital for several days. I hope it encourages you!

Personal update: Two weeks ago, I had a freak accident and fractured FOUR VERTEBRA. They expect me to make a full recovery in time, but for now, it hurts, and I've had to slow down a lot.

Just days before the accident, we had been recording the audiobook chapter, "Is God Still Good When Life Feels Bad?"

MY ANSWER IS STILL: YES!!

God didn't do this TO me. But He promised to be WITH me, no matter what. So I didn't ask Him, "Why did this happen?"

Instead, I asked, "What do you want to show me, or teach me, or grow in me right now, Father?"

That launched me into a whole new adventure with God. He has loved and comforted me, and I have grown! I've been able to connect with people and care about them in the most amazing ways. Instead of feeling powerless, I've been walking in His presence. And I will come out of this difficulty with personal upgrades that I didn't have before.

I think God is the ultimate improv artist. There is NOTHING that he can't use to bless his kids.

Whatever challenges you're facing, I hope that encourages you.
