A graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion, Hollman received theological training from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. He built Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Birmingham whose membership stands at more than 1,500. Hollman served as the first Director of Youth Services in Birmingham under former Mayor Richard Arrington. As director, he initiated programs addressing teen pregnancy, education and literacy, youth gang violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and unemployment problems. Today these innovative programs are considered among the best in the nation. Hollman brings to Atlanta an enthusiastic and, in his words, “a divine vision of faith, family and community.”
His life has been committed to helping provide spiritual guidance, as well as educational and social opportunities for the disadvantaged. He has been called a” visionary” who is aggressive, daring and result-oriented. Hollman also had a television ministry that airs on three networks.
“I believe the only way to be happy is to be holy. The only way to be holy is to obey the Lord and follow His commandments and teachings. If we do this, He promises us a long and prosperous life, not just on this earth, but into the New Land the faithful will someday possess – the New Zion.”
