His Eminence Cardinal Giulio Raimondo Mazzarino led, in an enlightened manner and with the utmost confidentiality, the Equestrian Order Pietà del Pellicano and immediately entrusted its structure and discreet material management to his niece the Noble Olimpia Mancini who married Prince of Savoy-Carignano and Count of Soissons.
The Order has always lived in a reserved manner, expanding only with a few followers chosen from among the nobles of France, Savoy, Italy and Portugal.
