​In Matthew 9, Jesus reveals that you cannot pour New Wine into an old wineskin. You are a completely new creation. You have a brand-new nature (Zoe life) inside of you! But right now, that magnificent new nature is housed in physical, earthly flesh.

​Fasting isn't about modifying the old man; it’s about subduing the flesh so that the New Wine of the Spirit doesn't burst the vessel. It is the spiritual maintenance that preserves your alignment and enforces your position in Christ.
