This year, in lieu of the 9-11 Interfaith Peace Walk, UCM and partners invite students and friends to attend a public event hosted by David Butcher, Therese Lackey, Talcon Quinn, and Madelyn Brewer. "From Old Savannah to Tablertown" will celebrate people of color in Appalachian Ohio with workshops, presentations, a historical exhibit, and music. This outdoor event takes place this Saturday, September 11th from 10 a.m. through the evening in multiple locations (Guysville, Stewart, and Tablertown).
Because of safety issues with carpooling, UCM is offering $10 scholarships to help students and community members get out to the event. Contact Jen Somerville to arrange pickup: 330-573-3155 (cell) or [email protected].
