WHAT TO EXPECT
Whether you have attended church your entire life or never been at all, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. You’re not quite sure what to expect and you probably have a lot of questions. At Windborne Church we want to give you the best experience possible. What is the worship service like? First of all, you won’t be pointed out or made to feel uncomfortable
in any way. Our worship services are designed to be meaningful and inspirational. The service usually begins with two-three contemporary praise songs. We’ll have the words up on the screen so you can sing as much as you feel comfortable. Our pastor will then deliver a message on a relevant topic based on the Bible. We often close with two-three more songs and the celebration of Communion (The Lord’s Supper, or The Eucharist). How long does service last? We start at 6 pm and finish by 7:20 pm. What do I wear? Whatever you want! Dress comfortably or dress up. We are a pretty casual bunch. Our pastor usually wears jeans. Where do I park? Follow our signs and park directly behind the Seney-Stovall chapel. The parking lot is a large U-shaped lot so there is lots of room. Where do I go? Enter the auditorium by going up the stairs at the front of the building on Milledge Avenue. If you have children between 0 and 3, we have a place for them directly off of the parking lot. You will see the signs as you are walking to the chapel from the parking lot. You can check your 0-3 year-olds in there. We encourage the rest of your family to all stay together for the first 20-30 minutes of the service. Children will then be dismissed for their own learning activities. You are certainly free to keep your children with you. We love a family atmosphere! What’s the atmosphere like? We’re in a beautiful auditorium with theater-style seating. A projector screens displays announcements, music lyrics and key Bible verses. What kind of church is Windborne Church? We are a church with people from all kinds of backgrounds (no church affiliation, Methodist, Catholic, Pentecostal, and Baptist). We belong to a denomination called the Christian and Missionary Alliance, which is a worldwide body with churches in 81 countries of the world. Find out more about our beliefs here.
