If These Walls Could Talk
Psalm 145:4
One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.
If these walls could talk, they wouldn’t tell the story of a building.
They would tell the story of Jesus.
Long before Recovered By Grace ever hung a sign on the wall, these walls were already watching God move. They watched Grace Full Gospel Church gather week after week. They heard prayers rise from broken hearts. They witnessed worship echo through the room. They saw generations come and go.
If these walls could talk, they would remember Pastor Clyde Carter and the faithfulness of those who carried the torch before us. They would remember people kneeling at altars, families being restored, lives being changed, and the Gospel being preached year after year.
These walls would remember a many young men & women walking through the doors bound by addiction.
They would remember the day Jesus set them free.
They would remember chains breaking. They would remember a life transformed.
Because this wasn’t just a church building to me. This is where I gave my life to Jesus. This is where addiction lost its grip. This is where I learned that grace was bigger than my past.
Then two years ago, God began another chapter.
Recovered By Grace Church was born inside these same walls.
The name on the sign changed, but the mission never did.
These walls watched addicts find freedom.
They watched prodigals come home.
They watched people who thought they were too far gone discover that Jesus still saves, heals, restores, and delivers.
They heard laughter. They heard worship. They heard tears. They heard testimonies. & they watched a church family become exactly what its name declared… recovered by grace.
And now, looking through the rubble, seeing a tree where a roof once stood, I can’t help but think…
If these walls could talk, they wouldn’t spend their time talking about what happened to them.
They would talk about what happened in them.
They would tell us about every soul saved.
Every prayer answered. Every addiction broken. Every marriage restored. Every person who found hope when they thought hope was gone.
Because buildings don’t change lives.
Jesus does.
Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Grace Full Gospel was never about a building.
Recovered By Grace was never about a building.
It has always been about Jesus.
The roof may have fallen.
The walls may be broken.
The sign may one day come down.
But the testimonies remain.
The freedom remains.
The memories remain.
The Gospel remains.
And the same Jesus who moved in Grace Full Gospel is the same Jesus who moved in Recovered By Grace.
Different seasons.
Different names.
The same Savior.
If these walls could speak one final message, I believe it would simply be this..
Don’t cry for us. Look what Jesus did here!
To God be the glory for every soul, every testimony, every miracle, every recovery, and every life forever changed inside these walls.
