There is an old saying that says "beauty is only skin deep"! This saying really can be applied to much of the life we live each day!
Our lives and many of the heartfelt situations and circumstances we find ourselves standing in, most often are surface deep. Certainly, they feel sometimes awkward and maybe painful but they are reminiscent of many moments in times past.
That is the beauty of a album, CD, tape, or a picture and a video, they really capture the moment and they give us opportunities to reflect in times past.
This is the gift of salvation! Just like an album, CD, tape, or a picture and a video, salvation allows us to see ourselves in the past and to realize that depth of who we are is personified by the presence of the Holy Spirit which is way below the surface of our life circumstances and situations and it propels us to move forward and not fall apart when things happen.
Beauty fades just as our problems but life goes on and what is on the surface won't always be but what is deeply entrenched inside of us, the love of God in Jesus Christ, will always be. Even until the end of age!
