So far in Luke, we’ve seen that God keeps His promises, even when we can’t see how they could possibly come to pass. As the silence breaks and Jesus enters the story, we see who He truly is: the promised Savior, the faithful Son, and the King whose Kingdom is unlike any other.

We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to keep walking through Luke together!

We’re so thankful for a great first ESL class! 🌎

Last week, we welcomed international neighbors to the Ministry House for our first evening of English learning, conversation, and community.

Thank you to everyone who came, served, and helped make this night possible. We’re excited to keep building relationships and creating a place where people can feel welcomed and connected.

Church Tailgate this Saturday! 🏈

Oklahoma’s coming to Athens. We can’t promise they’ll enjoy the game, but we can promise you’ll enjoy the tailgate. Come hang out at the Ministry House anytime from 11 AM until kickoff. We’ll have food & games. Bring your friends and family. Stay for five minutes or a few hours.

There was a lot of life in the room last Sunday. We’re thankful for a packed house, but even more thankful for the sense of expectation as we worship together and open God’s Word.

And we’re already loving our time in Luke. Week by week, we’re following the story of Jesus and the Good News He came to bring to the whole world.

The people Jesus welcomed might surprise you. (Here's why)

When you read about Jesus’ life, you see that while He was often around people who were already open to God, He was also constantly with the irreligious, the overlooked, the poor, the outsiders, and the kinds of people you might expect God to stay away from.

The Gospel of Luke especially highlights this part of Jesus’ life, and it’s one of the reasons we’re excited to spend this year studying this book together. Each week, we’ll hear His story - from the announcement of His birth, through meals and miracles and conversations with unlikely people, all the way to the cross and the empty tomb.
And through it all, we’ll see what Luke wants us to see: Jesus didn’t come for one kind of person, one kind of place, or one corner of the earth.

He came with Good News for the Whole World.
