A Message from Pastor Matthew Smith:

Fireflies and light sabers 🌌

I sat this evening watching my son play with his lightsaber as it got dark outside. Whirling around what is supposed to be a powerful sword. It’s light cutting through the darkness.

While outside he noticed another source of light. The gentle flash of fireflies communicating to each other as the sun sets. He runs chasing the little flashes to catch the light. Not to harm but to hold the tiny light bearers himself.

Jesus tells us. "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness but will have the Light of life." - John 8:12

That light can be demonstrated in strong and powerful ways through the miraculous works of the Holy Spirit. Often the light of Jesus shown in small glimpses communicated repeatedly and gently. We must respond by running to it and share it like my son does with his lightsaber and fireflies.
