Heavenly Father,

Today, during Pastor Appreciation Month, we lift up Pastor Ricky before you with grateful hearts. Thank you for choosing him, calling him, and giving him the strength to Shepherd Your people.

Lord, pour back into Pastor Ricky everything he has poured out for others. When he feels tired, renew his strength. When he feels discouraged remind him that his labor is not in vain. When the weight of Ministry feels heavy, carry that weight for him.

Protect his heart his mind his family, and his calling. Place a shield of protection around him and his home. Give him courage to face even the most difficult situations and peace that can only come from You.

Give Pastor Ricky discernment to lead your church, strength to stand firm on Your word, and the compassion to love people even when ministry is hard.

Bless his home with peace, his heart with joy and his life with the assurance that he is deeply loved and appreciated, not only by his church family, but by You.

Father, keep Pastor, Ricky’s eyes fixed on Jesus, renew his passion refresh his spirit. And Lord when Pastor Ricky stands before your people let them never forget these words.

"Father God I come before you again to lift Brother Ricky up in prayer. I thank you Lord for blessing my life & your church with Ricky's leadership and pastoral service. I again pray Father that Your Spirit continue to abide & overflow in him & you continue to pour your blessings over his life & his family. I pray you continue to guide his steps & protect him on all sides. It is in the Name of Jesus I pray these things. Amen."

The Silent Saturday

Jesus has been killed, taken down from the cross, wrapped up in linens, and placed in a tomb. The disciples flee and hide, worried that they may be the next to suffer the same fate. It's Saturday morning. The sun comes up and a new day has begun. But the Messiah is still dead. He's still in the grave. It's as if a thick darkness had settled in over the hearts of the disciples and the entire creation. Sunday is coming, yes. But the silence of Saturday had to be a tremendous weight for those followers of Jesus. Even today, some 2000 years later, we all have our Saturdays that we must deal with from time to time. Waiting on the Lord isn't for the weak. But it is what we are called to do.

"I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope." (Psalm 130:5)
