The History of Connecting Fires & Why We Are Changing the Name
As you know, if you have read any of the previous emails or Facebook posts. Connecting Fires is transitioning to a new name, the Remnant Defense Force (RDF). While the mission is changing the objectives are not - preach The Kingdom, share The Name and live in The Place. We are still the same people and serve the same God.
This is a short history of Connecting Fires and how the Lord taps his people for Kingdom assignments. Five years ago three men were attending a conference at Palestine Church. They all heard from the Lord that he wanted to bring a message of unity to the churches in East Texas. One believed that Phillip Greenwalt was the man to lead such a mission. Phillip was approached with this assignment and after much prayer accepted it.
God gave Phillip the name Connecting Fires. Phillip heard the Lord say the mission was to invite the ones that had the fire and those who needed and wanted the fire to come together. Phillip served in this stewardship position for three years and was very successful in his mission. Then, unexpectedly on April 18, 2021 after complications from heart surgery, Phillip passed on and went to his next assignment. Shock waves went out far and near, especially to his new bride, Kristi Grenwalt. They had only been married for 21 days.
After all this hurt and heartbreak and after much prayer and consultation, Kristi took the lead and stewardship of Connecting Fires. Kristi carried the same anointing that Phil carried. She stepped into ministry as well as leading the praise and worship. Many people were blessed and came from a large area to attend the meetings.
In the Fall of 2021 the Holy Spirit began to prepare Kristi to move to Delta, Colorado. She heard that she was to set Donna Albert and Billy Cissell as stewards over Connecting Fires. On October 23, 2021 Kristi left for her new assignment.
Donna and Billy continued the ministry of Connecting Fires until the Holy Spirit revealed to them in December of 2022 to set in and mantle John Hagan and Tara Day as new stewards over Connecting Fires. This was on January 21, 2023. Tara left Connecting Fires in June of 2021 to focus on her other assignments.
John Hagan began to receive new dimension downloads from the Holy Spirit regarding his plans and intentions for Connecting Fires in Athens and the surrounding area. While Connecting Fires continued to meet another small fire called the RDF was forming. This group was forged in the fire of love and unbreakable bonds began to form between the members. These new dimensions were in the realms of spiritual warfare, the 2nd born again experience of the soul, the spiritual reality of living out of Eden, perfect everything and how to walk through offenses - and much more.
It became obvious to all that a change was happening right before our eyes. The mantra was - Follow the Breadcrumbs, because it was not known exactly where the Lord was leading. John is a God chaser and is always wanting to do the will of God. Now God has shown not only John but our small RDF group that a paradigm shift is upon us and the cloud is moving. We are seeing Kingdom patterns being released that will bring the changes that so many of us desire and are chasing after.
A new dimension is being released. It has new frequencies, colors and tones, therefore the name change to the Remnant Defense Force. Although the name is changing, the connecting of fires in Connecting Fires is not changing and is the heart of the RDF.
Come this Friday, October 20th beginning at 5:30 to Disciples Crossing in Athens Tx (come to the green gate with green pipe fence and red sign that says Disciples Crossing. This is across the road from the main camp) We are going to celebrate this new thing, that is actually not a new thing but is the original thing. Steve Warriner, the first speaker at the first Connecting Fires meeting is coming from Florida to be with us. Kristi Greenwalt is traveling from Colorado to be with us. We will have a potluck dinner and a special time of worship and prophesy to celebrate and kick off this shift in the atmosphere of life that is our Lord’s.
