Our former prioress, Sister Esther Fangman entered eternal life earlier today, August 11, 2025. We hold her in prayer and gratitude for her fruitful, monastic life. May she rest in God’s peace.

Here is some wisdom from our Sister Esther Fangman. May she rest in peace.

Happy Feast of the Transfiguration!

Always cling to your ledge of light!

Our darkness is only one part of who we are, not the whole. We must be willing to see ourselves the way God sees us. We must be willing to embrace our identity as beloved.

Sr Maria Nguyen attended the Marian Days in Carthage , MO from July 31 to August 3, 2025.

The 46th annual Vietnamese‑American Catholic pilgrimage brought together an estimated 60,000–70,000 attendees for four days of faith and cultural celebration. Held at the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer’s 28‑acre campus, the festival featured daily Masses, processions honoring Our Lady, multilingual workshops, seminars, traditional food, music, and performances.

Rooted in its beginnings as a support gathering for Vietnamese “boat people” in 1978, Marian Days is both spiritual and familial—a time to pray, reconcile, deepen faith, and celebrate heritage together.

Meet Sister Mary Rardin!

From Navy physician to Benedictine sister! Sister Mary has lived a life of dedication and service. Her journey began with a childhood dream of becoming a physician, sparked by a deep fascination with science and medicine. After graduating from Washburn University and KU Medical School, she served as a Navy physician before feeling a call to religious life.

What’s God calling you to do with your gifts?

Today the monastic community of Mount St. Scholastica approved postulant Kathleen Lee (Katie) to enter the novitiate. The novitiate is a very special time in the formation of a sister. Let’s pray for Kathleen Lee and let us continue to pray for all the women who feel the call of God.
