Benedictine College Knights of Columbus

Benedictine College Knights of Columbus Welcome to the official page of Benedictine College Knights of Columbus council #4708!

The Knights of Columbus Council at Benedictine is one of the largest, oldest, and most active groups on campus. Founded in 1958, the Knights host multiple events on campus every semester, including barbecues, pancake breakfasts, Super Dance, the Valentines Day dinner, and more. We volunteer for organizations like Habitat for Humanity, the Hunger Coalition, and Ravens Respect Life. In fact, the Kni

ghts were responsible for starting RRL and for organizing the first Benedictine College trip to the National March for Life. We seek to build a brotherhood of men dedicated to the Church and to Christian charity and service. The Knights of Columbus is a global service organization, and the largest Catholic fraternal group in the world. Since its founding in 1882 in New Haven, Connecticut, the organization has provided charity in the community, support for the faith of its members, and financial security to members and their families through its highly rated financial products and services. The Knights’ charity is directed to projects at the local, national and international level. With more than 14,000 councils and 1.85 million members, the Knights have contributed $1.406 billion and more than 653 million volunteer hours to charitable projects over the past decade. The Knights of Columbus cares for the financial needs of its members and their families through its highly rated financial products and services. In fact, there is no insurer in North America more highly rated than the Knights of Columbus. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal service organization that witnesses to its principles of charity, unity and fraternity through spiritual and corporal works of mercy locally and throughout the world. The Knights also promotes the Catholic faith through evangelization initiatives and offers financial security to its members and their families through highly rated financial products and services. Membership in Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practical (that is, practicing) Catholics in union with the Holy See. This means that an applicant or member accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing in the Catholic Church.

Happy Feast of St. Joseph!!

To the members of our council, the wider Benedictine College Community, and everyone else: may this Feast Day be a source of blessings for your lives. Though we are unable to be together today to celebrate or be at Mass Today in a Heavenly celebration, we can still seek to honour St. Joseph in our daily lives through prayer and sacrifices. Let us pray for his intercession to end the scourge of plague stalking our lands, and return the reverent Celebration of Holy Mass to the centre of peoples lives.

Members of our Council this morning left doughnuts at the home of housebound elderly parishioners this morning to aid in the celebration of this great feast. What are you going to do to celebrate today?

Thank you to all the BC Knights who made a showing at SLS20 this past week, and to all the work of Focus for making this a great Conference! It was great to see so many Knights represented in the Keynotes, Esp. Dr. Rayes. We look forward to an ever-growing and deepening connection of the Knights with Focus!

Dr. Johnathon Reyes and Helen Alvaré will bring it home with the teachings of the Apostles in Acts 2:42 and how, if we are to live as true missionary discipl...
