Looking for a home for the High Holidays?
Come celebrate with us at Astoria Center of Israel (27-35 Crescent Street, Astoria, Queens). Whether you’re a longtime member, joining us for the first time, or simply looking for a welcoming place to pray, our doors are open. Judaism with Open Arms.
A lot of people walk into High Holiday services for the first time feeling like everyone else got a handbook they somehow missed. You didn’t. Here’s the honest version:
You don’t need to read Hebrew. Our prayer books include English translation and transliteration throughout, and page numbers are announced during services.
There are no assigned seats. Sit wherever you’re comfortable. Prefer the front, the back, an aisle, or somewhere near the door? Come a few minutes early and find the spot that works for you.
Come as you are. Many people dress up a bit, but there’s no dress code and nobody is checking. Services are long, and it’s completely normal to arrive late, step out for a breather, or take a break.
You don’t have to be a member. Some people join us every year. Others are walking through the doors for the first time. Wherever you are in your Jewish journey, you’re welcome here.
Tickets for non-member start at $54/holiday
Programs for kids ($18) running at 11am
And if it’s your first time, come say hi. Find someone at the door and tell them. We’d love to meet you.
