Music Monday!
Today's hymn can be found in the United Methodist hymnals on page 357, "Just As I Am". They hymn history is brought to you by Discipleship Ministries.
Charlotte Elliott, a Victorian hymn writer, was born in the south London district of Clapham in 1789 and died in Brighton, England, in 1871. Elliott was a famous humorous poet during her youth. At the age of 32, she suffered from a serious illness that left her disabled for the rest of her life. Then her lifelong spiritual mentor César Malan, a Swiss minister and hymnologist, counseled her to replace her rage and inner conflict with peace, and simple faith in God; from that day on, she turned her literary talents to writing hymns.

Testimony is powerful. Hearing how Jesus has moved in the lives of those around us is the gift of persevering through the dark moments in life.

I ask you today, share with us, how has Jesus absolutely transformed an impossible situation in your life?

Let’s give hope to those still struggling.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

I know the feeling mama, the one where your face turns hot and embarrassment creeps up your neck because your kids are giggling during the silent prayer time.

You know what else I know, I know that three seats behind me some sweet older woman is smiling at those giggles and her missing the days when her kids were little.

Bring them to church my friend, I promise the giggles, the noise, the pitter patter of their little feet make us smile with reminiscence and understanding.

Sunday School starts on Sunday September 13th at 9:30. We will save you a seat.
