Have you ever felt like you’re working harder than ever, running faster than ever, but your tank is always empty? You earn money just to watch it disappear through holes in your pockets. You buy things to satisfy you, but the satisfaction fades by Monday.
Over 2,500 years ago, the prophet Haggai spoke to a community feeling the exact same way. They were busy building their own comfortable lives while leaving God's house in ruins. They thought they had a resource problem, but Haggai showed them they had a priority problem.
Starting this week, we are kicking off a new sermon series through the book of Haggai. But this isn't a history lesson about brick and mortar. We aren't building a physical temple today. Instead, God is calling us to look inward—to review our calendars, our finances, and our hearts, and to finally start building what matters most: a deep, unshakeable relationship with God.
