Greetings to our brothers and sisters in Christ as well as our friends and neighbors. We share the peace of the Lord with you. This week, as we continue our discussion of the first epistle of Peter, we come across a topic that applies to all of our lives. In the world today we are beginning to see an increased hostility towards God, Jesus Christ and the true message of Scripture. Even though the hostility and rejection seems to be increasing, we need to remind ourselves that this was always predicted by the Apostles who warned us of this and who also gave us inspired words from the Holy Spirit to encourage us to endure through these tough times.

This week we will be discussing 1 Peter 3:13-22. In the middle of this passage are two verses which establish the concept of Christian Apologetics and the importance for followers of Christ to share their faith with others. Here are verses 13-16 " 13 And who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be in dread, 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect; 16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame." Peter reminds us that when we share the truth of Christ and suffer unjustly for doing so there is a blessing in store for those who are faithful. Just like Noah built the Ark that the Lord instructed Him to build and while building preached righteousness and warned of the coming flood. He was mocked and humiliated by the culture, but was saved once the flood water came. May you and I as followers of Christ show the same courage in the face of opposition and boldly proclaim our faith even when the culture rejects it.

Our church family welcomes you to join us. If you are facing a trial, need prayer and want to connect with others who will walk with you, encourage you and share the truth of Christ with you in a loving and respectful way we invite you to join us.

Worship is Sunday mornings at 10. We hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,
Pastor Jared Smeltzer

Good afternoon to all our friends and neighbors. On this national day of prayer we beseech the Lord God and ask Him that He will bestow on this nation wisdom and discernment as we navigate through these stormy times. There are so many people in the world today anxious and stressed about the current status of events. We see wars and rumors of wars, higher gas prices, instability in the governments of other nations and the constant struggles that many of our fellow Americans have with drugs and addiction. Despite all that is going on around us we do not have to fear because the Lord is always present. Even when we think there is no one watching or caring what we are going through we cannot forget that God is always here. We need to approach Him in humility and ask that His will would be done in our lives.

If you are going through a storm and not certain what to do, seek out a body of Christian brothers and sisters who will show you the love and support of the body of Christ. If you do not have a church home please consider visiting us at Nankin Community Church. This upcoming Sunday we will honor our mothers as well as learn how we can follow the example of Christ in our relationships. The Apostle Peter in his first epistle instructs us how to show the compassion, love and humility of Christ in the way we treat each other. Never forget that God is love and through His Son has shown us what true love really means. We pray that the peace of Christ will be with you all!

Sincerely,
Pastor Jared Smeltzer

Good afternoon to our friends and neighbors in the community. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condole...

Good afternoon to our friends and neighbors in the community. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of Maddox Graser (a student at Wooster High School) who passed away last weekend after an unexpected illness. It is during times like these that families are processing such a tragedy and trying to grasp with understanding why this happened to a young man who had such a long life ahead of him. How can a good God allow things like this to happen?

Our Lord Jesus Christ also faced times of trial in His earthly life and had to also face a death that He did not deserve. He did this because of His love for us. All of us are sinners who have rebelled against our Creator. But, because of His great mercy Jesus Christ has paid the penalty we should pay for our sin. We can walk holy and blameless before the Father not because of anything we have done, but because of His infinite love and grace. Thanks be to God that He listens to those who are suffering. Not only does God listen to those as they suffer, but He walks along with them through their trials.

In the Old Testament book of Psalms the 2nd king of Israel, David, wrestled with many of the questions that we are asking as we traverse through this life. In Psalm 118 he recalls how the Lord guided him as he was trying to escape from the clutches of King Saul who was trying to kill him. In verses 5-9 he records these words of encouragement:

5 From my distress I called upon the Lord;
The Lord answered me and put me in an open space.
6 The Lord is for me; I will not fear;
What can man do to me?
7 The Lord is for me among those who help me;
Therefore, I will look with satisfaction on those who hate me.
8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in people.
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in noblemen.

May all who mourn today be comforted in knowing that you have friends and neighbors who also mourn with you. The Lord is always present and will walk with you through the next several weeks as you grieve. We send our love and prayers. May the peace of the Lord guide you now and forevermore.

Greetings to all. On Sunday March 22nd we will continue our discussion as to why the resurrection of Jesus Christ brings hope for the future to those who are in Christ. We will talk about how the resurrection of Christ gives us hope that we will also experience a resurrection when Christ returns. The world does seem to be getting harsher. Jesus said that in the end times lawlessness will increase and the love of many will become cold, however He also reminds us that those who endure to the end will be saved. We are encouraged by Scripture to remain faithful to the Lord and look to Him for our salvation. May we never lose hope and keep pressing forward until Christ returns or He calls us home.

I know that this is very early, but please mark your calendars for July 6-9, 2026. That will be the week of Vacation Bible School. We will hold an evening program Monday -Thursday that week as we learn about the unexpected grace of Jesus. Hoping that all children and families in the community will join us for a week of music, learning and fun. We are looking forward to this time together!

Worship is Sunday mornings at 10:00. Join us!

Good evening! We would like to let everyone who follows us on Facebook know that we are back to streaming services live on Youtube. If you visit the church's page you will be provided a link when the stream is live. You may also go to the Nankin Community Church Youtube page and stream the service anytime you wish.

We would like to thank our longtime friend Ben Steiner who helped to set all of this up for us. The care and love he had for his church family was so strong and we will miss him. Unfortunately Ben passed away a couple of weeks ago after a long fight with cancer. We love you brother and will continue on the good work you helped us to start. Several others in the congregation are carrying on the work and for that we want to thank them.

If you are not able to join us in person please tune in every week at 10:00 AM for the live stream or watch any time you like. The link to the church's Youtube page is provided below. May the peace of the Lord be with you now and always.

Please join us this upcoming Sunday for worship at 10:00 AM as we continue our five-part message titled "The Resurrection of Christ, Our Hope for the Future." This week we will discuss how the resurrection of Christ provides those who believe in Him security of their salvation. In addition to this we will also answer the question "In what ways can the resurrection of Christ be demonstrated to be historically reliable?" The entire Christian faith rests upon the fact that Jesus Christ existed, He was executed by the Romans using crucifixion and that He arose from the dead three days later. This is a historical fact and therefore all who accept Christ as Savior have the security of their salvation because of that fact.

We also have Sunday School opportunities at 9:00 AM if you would like to join us. The adult class is studying the Gospel of Matthew. We are currently reading and discussing the Sermon on the Mount. The more people that can join us the more discussion and fellowship we can enjoy together.

Please join us and be with God's people. May the blessing of the Lord be with you now and always!
